This has always been a pita to say the least. In my case the hose is permanently connected to city water which gets detached from the boat and left at the dock when out cruising. I always shut the valve off when leaving the boat for the week other wise it is always on when we are at the boat or even away for a few hours running errands. that being said these cheap "RV/Marine" hoses tend to swell to the point of looking like they will explode. So I searched to find the best alternative.

I should mention it is highly recommended to install a pressure regulator at your spigot on the pedestal as many marinas do not have one. The pressures are rather high sometimes which puts unnecessary strain and creates swelling of the hose. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X4 ... UTF8&psc=1

Came across an American company by the name of Eley. The hose is definitely much better quality than anything out there in a "Drinking water Safe" type.
