View the latest post Salt Water in Galley Bilge

Hi, I have a 1986 Carver 4207. We took a 55 NM trip two weeks ago to get a bottom job. Once at the dock, we noticed our galley bilge full of salt water. Clearly, our float switch isn't working, thankfully the hard-wired breaker switch on the electrical panel is working, and when in the on position it empties the bilge. We had the bilges checked at the haul-out marina and they found no compromises. When they put us back in the water the bilge filled again and we had to manually turn the bilge pump on again to bail it. We made the trip home with no water in the bilge but now back at our home marina, the galley bilge is filling (like with 300 gallons, up to the wooden platform) again every 7 hours with salt water. Any idea where it could be coming from? Thank you!

View the latest post Attachment(s) Toilet "cleaner?" Reservoir. How does it connect?

On the base of our head (Crown Head I'm pretty sure), there is a reservoir that looks like it should contain toilet fluid of some sort. There was a nylon hose attached to the nipple but it wasn't connected to anything on the other end. Where is this supposed to attach to? What type of fluid should go in the reservoir?

View the latest post Carver 444 access to port strut bolts

Hi group, I need to remove my port side prop shaft strut. There is access to the starboard side inside aft closet. There appears to be a hatch beside the aft bed under the step ? Is there an easy way to get to the hatch without having to cut the carpet ?
Thanks in advance

View the latest post kohler 8e generator

Hello all,
I have a 1998 405 with a kohler 8e 8000 watt generator. Im trying to find a service manual, either online or printed. Also, the id tag states model number is 8E with a spec number 110307 and serial number 463426. is there a differant number I should be using to purchase parts, It seems that most model numbers are longer then 8E.
Thanks Tim

View the latest post Anchor Rode Washdown Hose

Hey Mates,

I would like to install a chain 'wash down' hose when weighing the anchor on my 2005 Mariner.
I am thinking of tapping into the line that feeds the sink on the bridge deck. I figure that I'll put in a 'T' fitting and then bring it to a valve under the forward 'rumble seat' featured on this model.
My questions for the crew:
a. Do you know what size inside diameter is utilized on our Carver water lines?
b. Any thoughts or ideas from anyone who has already tackled this project?

Thanks,
Dennis

Need to replace a Sherwood E35 raw water pump on my '77 Mariner on a 270 engine. I can find the pump, but can't find the fittings that connect the pump to the hoses. Any suggestions?
