View the latest post Attachment(s) dioes

On the electrical panel of my 1994 390 CPMY there are two diodes that light up or blink. on each 30A Carling breaker, They appear to run from ground to neutral. The diodes are about teh size of a dime and as stated, they are clamped in with the breaker screws that hold the wires to the breaker. Any idea of a source for these or what they are called or a part number?

Pic to follow in a day or so.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Windscreen removal on 3207

Hi All. First time Carver owner so I apologize if this question has been covered before. While I did a search on the forums , I'm in need of more specific information. I have a 1983 3207 aft cabin that is currently at a marina in Mystic Ct. that I need to transport home to the Sanford area in FL. Found a local transportation company here that can do the job and I will be heading up to Mystic next week, May 1st to prep the boat for transportation. Due to height I expected to have to remove canvas bridge enclosure. However, I'll also need to remove the windscreen and helm seat. Extra work but seems not only necessary but prudent as it is a long haul.
What I am hoping to learn from the community is :
1. How difficult it will be to remove the windscreen and helm seat and what tools will be needed as I will be bringing everything with me.
2. I've read that once the windscreen is removed and goes back on there are often problems with leaks. Has anyone had to do this and had that problem?
Any information and advice would be greatly welcomed as I will only have a max of 2 days there to get everything ready. Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Greetings All. Matt C. here and I've recently bought a 1983 3207 aft cabin that I am very much looking forward to enjoying with my 12 yo son. Other than the occasional pontoon rental on the ICW here in Florida and a short stint as a deckhand many years ago on a tug , my boating experience and knowledge is fairly limited, but look forward to learning with the goal of one day doing the Great Loop when my son graduates from HS. Delighted to have found a community of fellow owners and look forward to meeting others.

View the latest post In-hull transducer / 03 Carver 444 or similar

Hey all,

I want to install a Garmin P79S in hull transducer on my 03 444. In looking at the specs it says not to install on cored hull or a hull that's over 5/8" thick,

I know these hulls have cored sides but not bottom, so that should be fine. Does anyone know the thickness? And has anyone installed a similar unit (I think most companies sell a version of the P79S) and had any performance issues?

Thanks in advance

View the latest post Throttle cables stiff, but only when under way?

1996 Carver Aft Cabin. My throttle cables are very stiff, both from the bridge and salon, but only under way. With the engines off they move great. I am looking into lubricating and even replacing, but want to see if anyone had this same experience first. Thank you all so much!

View the latest post Shore Power Question

I was at teh storage yard readying for launch Thursday. I brought a couple of extension cords and a 115 to 30A adaptor and plugged in. I plugged in and didn’t see the shore 1 and 2 breakers were turned on inside. I saw a small spark as I plugged in, so stopped and shut off teh breakers. I plugged in and teh meter on the panel showed 60V, not 115. I checked another outlet they provided and teh same. If I turned on teh battery charger the GFI on the pole promptly tripped. I checked with my meter to the plug going to the boat and it was at 115-120V. Pulled the panel cover off, and at the breaker I had 38V. aired a few minutes at it was at 115. turned on breaker and 115 at both sides of breaker. Switched on teh battery charger and GFI tripped on pole. This was happening on both shore 1 and shore 2. On teh breakers, there i a diode going from ground to N(?) and shore 1 was blinking, while nothing from shore 2. I did see a little arcing on the ground tab on the power outlet in on the boat. Of course, all was good when it was put away.

I guess I am wondering if it appears to be a go round issue with my homeowner extension cords?I did try 2 adaptors, but same thing.

Input is always welcomed.

Best,

Tony

View the latest post Attachment(s) 84 3607 Aft Cabin AC Unit

Q Howdy. Taking on a new to me 84 3607 and AC units top of mind for a Baltimore summer. Hoping to recharge all 3 and see how long they last as they all run before I start replacing. Prior owner employed a window unit in the rear window. Front and mid units are easily accessible, but any thoughts on getting to the one in the aft cabin? It is in the far port corner, on a shelf hard under the countertop. I can see it from the cabinet pulling the drawer out, and minimally through the air vent in the vanity knee hole. My AC guy expected a split counter with access but that does not exist. Compressor is of course tucked in that back corner. Screws to remove cabinetry? Cut an access hatch above?

Also, I likely need an AC pump, which will be a $400 pain but doable. But the strainer is tiny for 3 units, and in my waters will likely need a cleaning every two weeks. Anyone added a larger strainer or relocated to better service? Boat has a generator of unknown capabilities, that I likely will never use, that restricts access.

Thanks. Phil

View the latest post Attachment(s) New to me 3607

Hello folks. Just made a deal on an 84 3607 here in Baltimore. Already have greatly benefited from info on the forum. Thanks to all. I am transitioning from a brand new Ranger Tug that I sold to not have a payment into retirement. New boat will mainly sit at dock. I am at Hendersons Wharf in Fells Point for anyone local. Will be lots of projects, but mainly sunsets! She will be SuperByrd, Mark II.

Be well! Phil
