Howdy all, I have a 2004 564CPMY with the Volvo D12 engines. I was looking to get spare props, but do not want to pull the boat out of the water. Does anyone know where I can get the correct prop size and pitch? according to my survey I have 2.25 shafts. Thanks for the help.

View the latest post 500 Cockpit Motoryacht Fuel Consumption

I am closing on a 1996 500 Cockpit Motoryacht at the end of this month in Charleston SC. I need to drive her back to Cortez FL and was wondering what kind of fuel consumption I can expect at both planing and hull speeds. I plan on cruising around 18 knots when I can. She has the 8.3L 6CTA 420HP Cummins diesels. I have heard 1.5MPG off plane but I don't know at what speed or RPM that would be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Loose vinyl panels

I’ve got loose and saggy water damaged vinyl panels in the salon by the side windows. Does anyone have any suggestions to replace? I was thinking of just cutting out the vinyl, fill, fair and paint the area? Unless it bare fiberglass then that is too much work. I’d rather not remove the windows.

View the latest post Year long world retirement cruises

Interesting article in the paper today about folks that are retiring for one maybe two years at sea. Some of the cruise lines offer these at around 40K cad ( About 30K usd ) each per year.......can be more depends on cabin.
Apparently these are all inclusive......sounds surprisingly reasonable to me. Anyone ever consider these offerings?

View the latest post 2001 396 aft Cabin bildge pumps location?

I recently aquired a 2001 396 Carver Aft Cabin.
I am not able to locate the aft bildge pump or the forward bildge pump.
The forward bildge is not under any of the access panels in the forward state room.
There is no access panel on the galley floor. I imagine its in the engine room behind the generator but I have yet to find it.
Regarding the aft bildge pump. I pulled up the carpet in the aft state room and removed all the access panels and no bildge pump. I did find the shower sump pump.
Could it be that Carver would hide the aft bildge pump under the shower sump? If so, you would have to remove all the drain hoses from the shower sump and the tub just to check the if the bilge pump functions. Would Carver actually do that or did the previous owner change things? I am the 3rd owner.
My marina neighbor has the same boat but a 2003. The forward bildge pump is under an access plate on the galley floor and the rear bildge pump is easily accessable under an access cover in the aft state room.
When I had the boat surveyed the surveyor noted the lack of easy access to to pumps an "area of concern and needs to be addressed".
Any comments are greatly appreciated.

View the latest post Engine cutting off after a while

So I have twin1976 Ford 351 Windsor engines and they both will just shut down after running for a while then start back up then shut down again usually at the worst possible time
Coming back to the slip. im switching over to electronic ignition in a week or two as im tired of dealing with points and thought that may be the issue. Doesn't over heat and batteries read ok. What's your thoughts? Thanks.
