View the latest post Attachment(s) Follow up question to fuel smell in the salon

Hey there and Happy New Year to the crew.
A couple of months ago I posted regarding a fuel smell in the salon. After many responses, I have decided to change out the fuel fill hose on both port and starboard this Spring. Folks have noted that hoses can be compromised due to the age of the boat and additives in the gasoline. I have a 2005 Mariner.
I was speaking with a friend and he mentioned that perhaps the fuel 'vent' line is the culprit.
I do not recall seeing any vent line on the boat. My previous vessel had the vents on the hull near the fill which were easily observed.
Do all boats require a fuel vent line?
Does the Mariner have a fuel vent line? If so would you know where they live.
Many thanks.

View the latest post Attachment(s) 356 Aft Cabin - how to remove upholstered window valances

Hello,

I have re-upholstered the valances in the salon and am moving to the aft stateroom but have not figured out how to remove the upper horizontal valances from either the aft window or the port side portholes. download/file.php?mode=view&id=6414

I have removed the blind/blind brackets which allowed me to remove a painted header that the blind attaches to which gave me access to where I thought the valance attached. I do find several screws which go through the lighter colored mounting? piece and apparently into the valance but there is no access to remove them. I tried a 90 deg screw driver but couldn't keep the driver bit in the head of the screw due to space constraints - this would take hours to remove the screws. I'm thinking there was a different way these were initially installed.

Any thoughts/suggestions/ tips would be appreciated.

Hi I have a 2006 Carver 38 SS. Does anyone have or can you confirm the air-draft for transporting? I am looking for the measurement form the tip of the props to the top of the Fly Bridge with the Bimini down and stowed and all antennas and navigational lights lowered or removed.

Thanks for any feedback.

Specific to the 355 model...
What light switch turns on/off the port side 3 ceiling lights in the main cabin?
By the sliding cabin door...2 switches...one is for the ceiling lights and the other is for the stairwell lights. On the counter side...kitchen top counter...4 light switches;
Upper 2.. one is the galley....one is the ceiling lights, one is for the kitchen table and the other seems to be for the engine room...not sure. But anyway....which switch is for the ceiling lights...port side...3 along the window/ceiling.

View the latest post Helm Gauge Replacement

I need to replace all (11) of my original VDO helm gauges on my '95 Carver Mariner 330 (most are faulty and unreliable, so will replace all as a set for a fresh start) and thought I would inquire of any recommendations before a direct swap out with new or for a newer technology solution or words of wisdom. Your timely reply is appreciated. Thanks!
