Took the last season off with the Carver to finish up my Shamrock. This morning,my Carver went in for this season. Engines fired right up and I ran her down to my dock. It felt weird after running a single engine boat for a while. Definitely easier with twins.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Repair and Charge Cruise Air

Hello,

I have two cruise air systems and both seem to be loosing coolant.
I think the leak may be out of the pressure fittings.

I have seen a product that claims to be some sort of "stop leak" fluid. and another product to locate or "smell" for leaks.
I am thinking of soldering or fixing the leaks and then re charging the system.
R22? and some gauges.

Any advise on how to go about this?

Thanks.

View the latest post Fuse holder replacement

Anyone ever replace just the fuse holder on a 2896 mariner electrical panel? I want to replace a few that are very difficult to open and close. Also, does the original manual have all the fuse amp recommendations so I can buy some replacements without fighting with each fuse holder? Thanks.

View the latest post Attachment(s) 355 aft Masthead Light

It would sound so simple, but running out of luck. I am in need to preface the masthead light on my newly acquired 355 Aft Cabin. The previous owner installed a 48" pole with a 360 light that makes zero sense as its not the highest point on the vessel and now just in my face. Also bent and loose. I want to replace it with something low profile and 225 degrees viewing. I can find lights like the AquaSignal series 25 replacement light, but not the bracket to place it in the desired location (or at all for that matter) . Does anyone here know where I can source something like what should have been equipped originally?

View the latest post screen door

We have a 3607 aft cabin with the sliding hatch and short doors. Last year I tried a number of options to try to keep the bugs out. Different types of screening. Some draped over the door. One attempt at hanging something from the railing around the door. All of them were very awkward to use. What do others use? I like to keep the doors open for the breeze and ease of use.

We are purchasing a 1989 3607 Carver aft cabin. We haven't owned anything bigger than a pontoon, so are a bit intimidated with such a big boat. We plan to drive it on Lake Michigan from Benton Harbor to Muskegon Lake in a few weeks. Any tips would be appreciated!!!

Thanks,
David and Brenda
