View the latest post Carver 3207 Engine problem

Hello and Happy New Year,
I have a small engine start problem that i'd like to get fixed or fix before the spring.
SO for my last ride the engine wouldn't go higher than 3000 rpm and it didn't really want to do that much. By the time i made it to the marina for storage about 45 minutes it cut off and wouldn't start.. I checked the entire fuel system the engine is getting fuel.. just no spark... so I changed
Wires and plugs
cap and rotor
pointes and ( that little cylinder thing lol)
still nothing so i converted it to electronic still nothing.... if I leave the cap off and try to start it i can see spark on the bottom of the cap . I'm getting spark from the coil just not to the plugs....sooooo my big question is could my Distributer be bad? during the electronic ignition conversion i noticed a lot of rust inside of the Distributer. Before I make any changes I want to loosen the distributer and twist to see if its a timing issue.
Any Suggestions would be helpful

View the latest post Carver 33/35/36ss head fill solenoid/valve??

Hey guys,
The head kept filling after flush, now won't stop filling. Checked switch, seems to be ok. Had to unhook the supply hose and plug it while I troubleshoot.

Has anyone had this issue or do you know/suspect the culprit? I can't find the solenoid/valve that controls the flow either.

Thanks!!
Dan

I like the lines on the Mariner 35 ,
There is one tha has my interest 2000 ,
Has twin Mercruiser 6.3 or is 6.1 , 305 hp
Concerned about rising fuel costs , and mph use on a boat this size
Cabin appointments looks perfect for the two of us & dogs ,
Objective, water condo, few weeks travel within Fla ,
Owners what are the Pro's , Cons of this model
Room in engine room too work
somewhat easy access too fuel tanks, dirty water , A/C unit ,
seldom speed , most times 10 knots , what can i expect too burn per hour or per mile on twin engines described .

View the latest post Happy New Year!

Well, here we are again, end of another Covid dominated year. Plus a lot of other drama nobody needs. Good thing we have this thin layer of escapism called boating. So, a heartfelt wish that we all continue to take care of each other, remain grounded in humanity, share our talents and knowledge, and simply be kind. Be charitable and generous, it comes back 10 fold.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY! 2022 WILL BE THE YEAR OF _____________ ( FILL IN THE BLANK ) 8-) ER

View the latest post Hi Everyone

Hi everyone

The wife and I are closing on a 35 ft. Montego on January 31. The survey went well but the owner needs to repair some items before we close. All of them minor. He really took good care of the boat. I will need to upgrade the electronics.

This is the third boat we have looked at and surveyed. The owners of the other two were not going to do a thing to them. So we bowed out of them. The boating industry needs some serious house keeping. I will leave it at that.
I am .68 and the wife 70 we just want to do some fishing and enjoy the boat in the gulf. :captain:

View the latest post Attachment(s) Fuel tank level sender question

Okay, I warned you guys I'd have a lot of questions, still trying to figure out where everything is on this boat, and discovering a lot of "improvised" things that have been done to her previously. This, however, I don't think falls in that category. I'm trying to find out where the fuel tank level senders are, my starboard tank isn't reading anything, so I'm trying to first determine if it's the sender or a break in the wire between the sender and the helm. In the engine space, the fuel tanks go all the way up to the top of the space, so there's no access there. When I look above there (under the sofa, etc) I can't find anything either. I've actually got the original owner's manual AND the parts catalog, and looking at the diagrams/schematics, I don't see anything there either. Any ideas?

Silly question but I was asked and now am curious. I'm sure I was asked because she wanted to know how many friends she could bring. Just bought a 2004 Carver 420 Mariner. There is seating for 7 or 8 on the bridge. Would it be stable with that much weight up high? Have to wait until spring to take it out. Would be good to know before then.

View the latest post 440 Express autopilot

We just recently purchased a 2000 Trojan 440 Express. It does not have autopilot. I'm looking for recommendations on brand or appropriate size. Does anyone know what type of steering it has .... Hynautic / Seastar etc.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to all .

View the latest post Attachment(s) Trying to identify this model

Howdy! As the title says, I've been looking all over the internet and I'll be darned if I can come up with anything that identifies this particular model Carver. It's a 1977 with flybridge. The telltales that I've been trying to find on other boats in doing my research are the rectangular portholes as shown in the picture. There are two on the starboard side and one on the port side. Can anyone help me identify this model?
