View the latest post Window vinyl gauge

Hello All,
I have been searching the posts for any related thread on this topic and cannot find one so apologies if it has been discussed already.

I am replacing all the windows on my canvas on my 2003 360. I can't seem to find anywhere on what the recommended gauge should be. I was thinking of doing 40 gauge all around. The folks doing the work for me have 30 gauge on hand, and I'm not sure if that will cut it. Appreciate any feedback,

Thanks!

View the latest post My Raritan ice maker suddenly stopped making ice

My ice maker stopped making ice all of a sudden when I turned it off and back on a bit later it made one round of ice but it’s not automatically make more like it’s supposed to?

Any quick fixes or ideas that I might be able to try myself?

Appreciate it!!!

View the latest post Fault code 6.4 Fault in Multi-Station unit

I was getting this 6.4 code on my EDC control panel for the starboard engine. My neutral green light would not come on but the yellow diagnostic button would flash that code and the starboard engine would start.

However after running for a few minutes the engine would idle up to 1000rpm which I know is the “safe mode” and is caused by the engine losing communication/signal with my starboard flybridge controls. So I turned it off.

In my owners manual the cause for that 6.4 code is faulty values from pontentiometers, controls not calibrated, communication faults.

Since my neutral light wasn’t coming on I decided to clean the connections in the plug behind the dash. Tried things again and the neutral green light came on and the engine started but then idled up to 1000rpms again. So I turned it off.

Now the starboard engine won’t start at all and I get nothing when trying to start the starboard engine...when I turn the key push activate and turn to start nothing happens now...no yellow or green lights come on. I hard wired the neutral feed to make sure it wasn’t the plug connections but still got nothing. (Did the same thing on the port side and that engine is staring just fine).

I tried staring in the Pilothouse and the same thing is happening down there. So I am at a lose as to where to investigate next!

Does anyone have and experience or advise for this? Thanks so much!

View the latest post Hi, newbie here

I grew up boating i.in the 70's when men were men and swimming next to a boat in the morning risked a swim through charmin .
Grew up on the following boats
25 pacemaker, 32 pacemaker, 1982 36 foot marine trader trawler, 45 foot 1978 whitcraft

I killed many a dinghy in my youth beating the rivets out as I flew through the air in my 9.9 he evinrude powered duranautic. Gamefisher , viking,

Graduated to 15.5 foot sidewinder with a 135

Restored 21 foot penyan
31 foot 1961 trojan wood gorgeous
27 foot 84 bqyliner sunbridge
1996 to 2017 I have been a land lubber

29 foot silverton sport cruiser

3607 carver aft cabin 1983
Cruised from islip ny to norfolk va atlantic even tried 6 foot seas out ... most unpleasant lol

Now the work begins

Port holes all need replace . Bottom sand blasted blisters addressed sealed and painted. Bilge pumps cracked water tank, mystery smell identified and addressed depth finder and transducer replaced. Bimini replaced.

Ouch my wallet is killing me.

Ok I guess this is an short introduction. Lol

View the latest post Attachment(s) Replacement of countertops in 2000 396 Aft Cabin

The admiral wants a new look in the salon and the countertops are at the top of her list. There doesn't seem to be a good way of removing the countertops without damaging the cabinets. Has anyone removed the countertops and if so, how? I have attached a pic of the galley showing the countertops.

Someone suggested epoxy coating for the countertops which would not require their removal. Anyone try this methods? I think we would hire a professional since I am fearful of causing damage while installing epoxy.

Thanks.

View the latest post 1988 4207 Tank dimensions

Hey all I am purchasing a 1988 4207 Carver. The water tank is currently a Bladder and I want to replace it with a plastic tank. Does anyone have dimensions of the location where the fresh water tank/bladder is located? also is the floor flat or is it tapered to match the hull?
I'm also going to replace the waste tanks and hoses as the appear to be original, I also need the dimensions of them. I won't have access to the boat for about 8 days and would like to get the tanks ordered up ASAP!

View the latest post Attachment(s) Anchor locker drainage

I have a drainage question with my 1983 Riviera 2807.

The anchor and rode lockers at the bow drain directly into the bilge. A hose runs from the bottom connector and dumps right by the forward bilge pump. When there is a good rain storm, this locker catches a decent amount of water.
Does anyone know if this locker should just drain into the bilge as it is now, or should it be going to a through hull fitting overboard?
I guess it's not incredibly important either way but it is nice to have a dry bilge.
Would appreciate anyone's thoughts.

While I'm at it, i also noticed today that this forward bilge pump, pumps the water out slightly below the water line. I feel like this may be wrong?

Thank you,
