View the latest post Engine Synchronizer Gauge

I have a 1989 3807 that has a broken glass on the Engine Synchro Gauge. Can I have the glass replaced or do I have to purchase a new gauge? It was broken when I purchased boat.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Handle for inside of sliding door to salon

I have a 2000 396 aft cabin. The outside of the door to the salon has a large handle to open and shut the sliding door. Unfortunately, the inside only has a small finger hole to open and close. I would like to install a stainless steel handle on the the inside of the door.

Has anyone installed a handle on the sliding door, and if so, can you provide some recommendations or dos and don'ts to guide me. I am assuming I would just drill some holes in the door for the handle but drilling holes always causes me concerns.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

View the latest post Attachment(s) What is this for?

On my 366 I have 4 of these chrome fittings set into the Aluminium radar arch & hard top. They are all reacting with the Alu & it does not look like they actually do anything? I need to remove them & repair the alu / paint underneath. Obviously there was an initial purpose - but now?

View the latest post New Member and longtime Carver owner

I have owned Carvers for the last 13 years. Had a Carver 366 for 11 years and now have a Carver 466 for the last two years. I am thinking about adding to the swim platform with either an extension or thinking is it possible to add a T lift. Maybe someone has done this and would like to hear any experiences. Thanks

View the latest post Forward Bilge Issue

We have a 1988 Carver 3807 Aft Cabin kept on the St. Lawrence River in Alexandria Bay, NY. This will be our 5th summer on the boat.
It seems that the forward bilge is having issues. It doesn't seem to be able to drain the water from under the water tank in the galley. We do not have any schematics or owners manual. Is there an opening in the dividing wall between this area & the back of the boat that may be plugged? The access is very small & narrow. We have to rig a garden hose to our shop vac to remove the water as it seems that the pump has no where to drain it. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Penny & Dave

View the latest post 1997 Carver 430 Bed sizes (Manual)

Silly question, but our boat hasn't arrived at our lake yet and we don't exactly know the size of the beds. We want to go ahead and order sheets, etc.

The master stateroom is a queen, according to the 1997 brochure. What about the forward stateroom? The foldout couch? The convertible dining area?

We have five kids, so will fill every sleeping spot.

On a related note, does anyone have a suggestion for finding the owner's manual?

For both of these, I searched the forum and through Google and came up blank. The Carver site has manuals, but oddly not the 440.

Thanks!!! Thrilled to be here.

View the latest post New owner in Texas

We're the new owners of a gorgeous 1997 Carver 430. It is perfect for our family and we can't wait to get out on the water. We're at the survey stage, so it could all go south, but looks great.

This is the largest boat we've ever owned, so we have a LOT to learn and I'm sure I can learn a lot here. We're on Lake Lewisville, just north of Dallas and new to the lake too.

View the latest post Mobil One Synthetic

Guys.
Quick question, I have no idea what type oil has been used in my engines over the years. I have about 80 hours on the oil and neither engine has used a drop since I got the boat about 2 1/2 years ago. Current hours are 472 and 477.
I would like to change the oil before this spring and ya know the 7.4 MPI Mercs better than anyone.

Is it safe to use Mobil One Synthetic and call me old school, maybe even overkill, but I also like to add a small bottle of Slick 50 Synthetic which I have used since 1989.
Is there another oil I should be using instead?

I would imagine the transmission fluid is changed at the same time?
What guidelines do ya normally go by?

Thanks in advance and I sent up some more :beergood: money. I hope ya are having an awesome weekend.
