- Forum: Carver Yachts Forum - Model Discussion
Hello all. Would love some feedback on the following situation. My 1991 Carver 33’s Koehler genny will run all day long when the fuel selector switch is set to starboard fuel tank. If I select port fuel tank it will run for 20 minutes almost exactly. Both fuel tanks have about a half tank of new good fuel in them. Engines perfect. Am I missing something? Is there something I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Hello we are new and looking to purchase a new to us Carver. We will mostly cruise the Chesapeake for awhile. This will be our first big boat.
Can anyone tell us if the 444 and or the 466 will cruise comfortably in the 8-10 knot range when 15-18 knots is not needed given their hull design and larger engines 370 hip. Thank you!

Twin 454 XL engines with low hours, fresh water use in Finger Lakes. On the Erie canal, you can drive it away!
Walter V-drives, very new full custom canvas for bridge and aft deck will keep you nice and dry.
Twin AC units keeps the cabin very comfortable in the heat. Great sleeping at night!
Kohler generator works well and powers anything needed on-board away from dock.
Garmin GPS, VHF, Bluetooth receiver in helm with Bose speakers, Salon has Bluetooth receiver with DVD player connected to LED tv.
Custom davits for dingy, hot water heater, electric head with 40 gallon holding tank, 100 gallon fresh water tanks, large forward berth in forward cabin, custom seating for starboard aft berth.
Galley with AC refrigerator, microwave, oven and cook top. 50 ft twin 30 amp cables with any adapter possible.
Electric windlass with anchor. spare props.
Many large bumpers and lots of lines.
Bridge clearance is about 12 inches lower than fly-bridge, much fewer problems on canal cruises.
Swim platform very convenient for embarking and taking a dip in the water. No need to climb on the gunwale and possibly fall.
Currently in storage under shrink wrap. I have many more pictures in a Google drive.
Asking $43,000
Reason for selling? Getting old, wife not very interested as much.

- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
Hello all,
I have a 1995 Carver 355 and the rear sliding acrylic door is getting hard to open or close.
I have tried spraying a dry lube on the top and bottom tracks. That seemed to help for a while bit now it is getting so my wife sometimes can't open it to leave the boat.
That is not a good situation.Does someone have any info on removing and repairing this thing so it will be easier to operate?
Thanks for any help and advice you may give.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Fuel Pump
- Posted by: abcoker » January 21st, 2021, 4:25 pm
- Forum: Gas Engines/Transmissions
The Fuel pump went out on my starboard 1993 Crusader XL. I ordered this part from Amazon
I installed the pump and the engine starts and runs great, but I couldn't get the fuel line connectors to stop leaking. I took it apart and put it back together 5 times with different amounts of torque on the nuts and Loctite on the threads, but it would always leak fuel between the hole in the nut where the fuel line passes through.
The last time I took it apart, i broke one of the fuel lines CRU98148 #22 in the diagram
My plan was to just replace everything from the fuel filter housing forward including an OEM fuel pump, but I can't find the parts.
Can these fuel lines be replaced with flexible ones?
Does anyone know a good source for these parts?
Any advice on how to make those connectors not leak?
Thanks,

New member here, not an owner, but rather a buyer. I'm looking to purchase a 4207 this spring. Anyone from Michigan will know what I mean when I say we lost our family cottage "up north" and I have decided on weekend boat living with my family and I. I think the layout of the 4207 hooked me, but the engine room size lured me in. As a 25 year mechanic who has fallen out of love with cars and racing, I'd rather work at having a cool "yacht". Act as if right?
I've already learned a lot here in 10 minutes. I know how I'm spending my Thursday night. Thank you to all who make this page possible.

View the latest post Need Recommendations for Bimini on 23 Montego

- Forum: General Boating Discussion
Good afternoon everyone!
I bought a 23 Montego a couple months ago. The original Bimini was removed, and a junky universal top from Atwoods was added. I would like to go back to the original top style but I cannot seem to find a frame for it anywhere online. I can always fabricate one myself, but wanted to ask here to get ideas before I go to that trouble. Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I have been lurking on this site for a while now and decided to join.
I have a 1995 Carver 355 and have owned it a couple of years now.
I have her berthed in Northeast Al on the Tennessee River.
I have already benefitted from the great advice and post from all the experts on this site.
Hope to be able to return the favors at some time.
Thanks very much.

Anybody have any suggestions on how to get to the starboard sea strainer on a 1991 Carver 33 aft cabin? I can see it, it is under the dinette but now way to get there. Access panels under seat cushions go nowhere. Thanks in advance.

I have another strange question. Own a 91 Carver 33. I would like to clean the plexiglass sliding windows back side in front of the electrical panel inside the cabin. The slider is built into the wood side. Anybody have any luck or ideas on how to clean the back side of this glass? Obviously I can’t get my hand in there.
Thanks.
