New to Forum: I purchased a 1989 2557 Montego two years ago. I have been "slowly" refurbishing her. She has a 5.7 litre Mercruiser with Alpha stern drive. Has a total of 496 hours since new. 1984 3207 Aft Cabin has always had good working toilets until this last couple weeks

All at once when the toilets are flushed no fresh water enters the toilet and the (liquid) exits the boat on the port side

from what I think is the vent tube??

At the same time no fresh water enters the boat when on shore water.---and that's only when hooked up to shore water.

We almost never turn on the water pump nor use the holding tank and up until this recent even had no problem dry

With very high freshwater temps and living aboard full time,I am having to clean A/C strainer weekly. It was suggested that I place a small chlorine (pool) tablet in strainer to help. It sounds like a reasonable solution, however I do not want to damage coils or other components. Any experience/feedback would be appreciated.

I have always done my fresh water system winterization and A/C system myself. For the A/C, I will shut the petcock for the raw water inlet, (as I do it while in the water), then open the strainer. I take a hose from the dock supply, and fill the strainer and run the A/C's, a few minutes to flush them free of salt water. Then, once done, I will pour pink antifreeze into the strainer (usually 5 or 6 gallons to ensure I get all the water diluted to pink) and run the system on both heat and cool, wh ...

Can anyone please tell me the propeller shaft diameter on a 1999 Carver 450 Voyager with 450 HP Cummins engines?

Since I have not posted since we bought the boat, I thought I would give a update.

We bought it in June. We have used it quite a bit. Almost every week.

We did replace three batteries so all four are the same type and age. Also replaced the waste pump and the shower pump.

The built in air conditioning and heat work well as we have used both.

Everything functions as it should, however there are some of the original gauges that are not working, at the lower helm. Most upper gauges work. So ...
