View the latest post Blower system

I am going through this boat system by system and concerning the engine compartment blowers I am a little confused.
When I turn the blower switch on I can hear a blower come on but it seems to be located behind the gas tank. How would I access this blower. And also there are two hoses hanging down from the back scuppers. However, they are not connected to the blower. Is this the correct setup for my boat. Thanks in advance for all the help.
This is a 1977 or 1978 Carver Santa Cruz 2566.

Hi All,

Looking for a source for the door that covers the shore power inlet on the transom; ours is broken and I do not see this part listed anywhere in the parts manual for this year.

Thanks
Tony

View the latest post Carver 444 CPMY ES help

Hi All,

We recently purchased a 2004 Carver 444 CPMY extended salon. We have been cruising in a sailboat for the past 6 years, prior to that I ran large offshore fishing boats, but I must admit that I am a little green when it comes to some of these systems. We are just getting it ready to set off and have run into a few issues that our surveys did not appear to cover and I am asking for help as the manual doesn't appear to solve my issues.

There are 2 thru hull fittings (silcock) in the aft lazarette on the port side. One is about a 1.25" that I believe runs under the master berth to a waste discharge pump, does that sound right? It is currently stuck / frozen. How is this system used / turned on?

The second is smaller, appears to be above the waterline, further back, needs replaced, is currently open, but I have yet to be able to trace it, any ideas?

Another issue I seem to be having is the faucet in the main galley is not working. The pump is working, all faucets, showers, and the bridge wet bar are working, and the former owner says it was working as did the survey. There was some work done on the engines as a result of the survey, could the technicians accidentally turned something off? I have started to try to trace it back but before I move furniture and get in behind the refrigerator, etc. I thought I would see if anyone has any clues on this one?

Any and all help and advice would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Marc

View the latest post Looking for part on exhaust system

Hello All! I have a 1995 Crusader 350XL engine. The first fiberglas exhaust connector, with the built in back flow flapper, developed a crack and is leaking. It's about 5" long, and 3 3/4" wide. Anyone know where I can get the replacement part? The boat is a 330 Mariner. Thanks.

What does Captain Kirk, Popeye and Captain Hook all have in common? They were all bad ass people! Why? They were all in command of ships. You should be in command of a ship! You should buy our boat!

We offer you the opportunity to be in command of this 1985 Carver Convertible 32 ft Yacht. Laxi too is a Florida native vessel and has never seen fresh water. Registered only with the US coast guard (not local) Laxi has sat in dry dock for several years. She was tarped while in dry dock, and was untarped on 6/4/ 2018. Laxi features two 350 mercruiser engines (appox 700hrs on each), onan generator, and can sleep 6 people. Everything was fully operational at the time of dry docking. She doesn't have any soft spots to our knowledge. Listed her as fair condition because she needs some mechanical work -wet exhaust has broken. She comes with many extras too (boxes of 1980's boat stuff in our basement = spot light, antennas, radio ect ) The fly bridge is there, but not fully installed. We also have the original owner's manual. She is being sold as is. and she comes with her cradle! If you don't want the cradle with the purchase please let us know, otherwise its take it all! No part outs! Physical Location is Shelburne Shipyard, Shelburne VT.

Please feel free to ask us questions, and we would be happy to show the boat. Additionally you can check out the video walk through here:

Asking $3500 OBO.

View the latest post 8D Batteries

Last post got side tracked on the generator issue but still need to get new batteries. Need two 8D's for my 400 with twin Cummins 6BTAs. Set up has them acting as house and starting batteries. Running the stock Pro Mariner 30 charger. Would like to go maintenance free since I can't reach the back battery to service it easily. Thanks in advance.

Is it labouring or slipping? A loose clutch will make it seem like it's not working properly. If that's okay, you need to rule out a possible lack of power issue; batteries, connections, solenoid pack, etc. Both the load and control circuits should be checked. The motors are pretty robust but everything fails eventually, it would be the last thing I'd suspect if all else checks out, you can take it into an electrical shop or someone that rebuilds starters, alternators, etc. Replacing the oil in the gearbox is a regular maintenance item that should be done every three years according to the manufacturer if I remember correctly. Check out the manual, there are some maintenance items mentioned that you should look at going through as well as a troubleshooting guide that may steer you in the right direction. if you don't have a manual, download here:

View the latest post Anchor for 405 Carver

Good Morning, Carver Crew.

I just recently purchased a 405 Aft Cabin (LOVE HER!!). The surveyor mentioned that the anchor on the boat would not hold him in place. The boat came from a lake, and I don't think they every really put stress on the anchor.

I plan to take the boat to the Keys, so obviously I am in need of a serious upgrade. This is one are I do not want to cut corners. I am looking at this 65 pound Mantus:

Does anyone have any thoughts\recommendations?

Thank you in Advance,

Ken
