View the latest post Finally Took The Plunge

Hello Carver Crew!

After planning, working our tails off, and more planning...my wife and I finally purchased a 405 Aft Cabin.

We absolutely love her, but are freaking out a little bit as well. Our previous boat was a 22 foot pontoon.

We are planning on living aboard eventually...just need to sell the house.

I am sure I will be here bothering the heck out of you guys with Newbie questions\concerns. Your patience is appreciated in advance.

Thanks,

Ken

Full disclosure - this not my boat but is owned by a very good long time boater friend that has some very serious medical issues that force him to sell. Another friend and fellow boater and I have taken this on to help him and his wife who also has some serious health issues.
I will try to post some pics but believe I may need to have more posts here on the forum to qualify.

View the latest post New to the CYO Forum - Prior Riviera Owner

Hi All
Just joined the forum.
I have owned a 1986 Riviera for many years and loved the boat.
Reason for joining is to help a very good long time boating friend a Carver owner sell his boat.
He had a stroke last fall and his wife was recently diagnosed w/ a brain tumor so they are looking to unload their boat ASAP.

I and another close boating friend have taken on the task to help get his boat sold.

I guess I need to earn my way to post on the For Sale section and post photos so working on that.
Boat is a 1993 Carver 300 Sedan and is a freshwater boat in excellent condition.

Hope to contribute here based on my 30 yrs of boating experience and 12+ yrs of carver ownership.

Don

View the latest post Attachment(s) Replacing shower fixture

I have a 1990 36 Aft cabin. I want to replace my shower faucet fixture. I cannot locate an access panel to get behind the shower wall to remove the fixture.

Does someone know how to access the back side of the shower wall to replace the shower control fixture?

A video would be great! I can’t find one on the web.

Cheers,

Anthony

View the latest post Decelereration stall and no start

Hi guys, We bought a new to us 2004 360 Sports Sedan with VP 8.1's. Engines run very well, this problem happened 3 times, while underway, when I come down from cruising to idle the engines, the Starboard engine quits. I would turn off the key, turn it on again, I would not even get the 2 beep okay to start. I have to wait some time before that would happen. All of a sudden, the 2 beeps come on, start the motor, then continue. Like I said, if we are just trolling, no problem, it seems to only happen after cruising speed. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Andrew

View the latest post Attachment(s) 350 Mariner Air Conditioner Cooling issue

I have a 2002 350 Mariner, I has a single ac 16000 btu unit under the fly bridge dash, above front bedroom. My question is, is this setup large enough to cool the whole boat? Mine does not seem to be able to keep up on a 80 plus degree day. Does anyone else have this problem or is my system going bad? I am considering a second 6000 btu unit, like Carver installed as an option. Just curious if anyone is cooling there 350 to satisfaction with a single 16000 btu?

View the latest post Howdy Happy Boaters!

After years of lake boating, and nearing retirement, I am closing in on the purchase of a 350 Mariner, with the plan of doing some coastal cruising as my spring and fall pastime. Going to look at a Mariner this week and I am getting really stoked about it. Gonna be hard not to buy it even if its deemed a lemon by the surveyor (not really). My wife and I have both taken day skipper courses in order to help prepare us for tidal games. Here's to another chapter and more adventures! :captain:

View the latest post Attachment(s) Adding a second Air Conditioning Unit to 350 Mariner

I am thinking about adding a second AC unit in my 350 Mariner. Has anyone done this? I know the second AC was a factory option, can someone send pics of unit under dinette? What size are the in and out ducts? Thanks for any info you may have.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Simrad Dataline-x SDX wiring issue

Greetings,

While installing my stereo remote and snaking the wiring from salon stereo up to bridge I must have ripped off the wiring for my Dataline-X. I can't seem to figure out how to reattach the wires and get he thing working again. Also can't seem to locate where the previous owner would have installed the actual data box? Any ideas where on a 350 Mariner the data-box would be...attached pictures of the loose wires I located on the bridge but they don't seem to have a place. Any help would be much appreciated....

Rick
