View the latest post Attachment(s) Power panel amp question

Good morning, new owner here.

I have a 2002 Carver Mariner 350. Yesterday I noticed that the main meters are showing 110 v when plugged into shore power, and everything seems to be working.

However, the meters show almost 0 (zero) amps drawn, and also the green lights to show "Shore #1 Safe" and "Shore #2 Safe" do not turn on. I have never noticed if the green lights on the panel ever turned on.

When the a/c kicks on, the amp meter needle moves to show initial draw and then returns to slightly above one amp.

I turned on water pump and did not notice any movement in the amp needle.

Thoughts?

Sorry, here is photo of the panel.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Shower Faucet

I have a leak. Don't like leaks. This one is in the shower faucet in the head. (yes, a dreaded wet head! now even wetter!)

Boat 04 360SS, the single lever faucet is leaking out of the single lever. I suspect there is a cartridge in there, much like a conventional faucet, but then again... I know it's a boat. Quick search has yielded no replacements, as the lines are on 6 inch centers, and the RV market seems to like 4 inch centers. I haven't figured out how to remove the handle, seems to be a small emblem, (with the hot/cold sign on it) that if removed would allow me access, however, I suspect that will destroy the little emblem. Not entirely against that, but first trying to do no harm.

Anybody been inside their faucet?

View the latest post Another 1st boat and 1st Carver

I am new to boating but anxious to learn.
I have an old 83 Carver 3207 that I got for what I think was a decent price.
The boat is in a slip on Dale Hollow lake but I live in Florida so I bought a month ago and just this week I was able to take some time and come up to thoroughly go through the boat. I have made a list of things that need to be made better but I have run into some problems electrically. When I walked through the boat prior to purchase I didn’t notice how the previous owner turned everything on and off so I have struggled through. I have shore power operational and the 1st night I had interior lights and could flush the head now I cant does anyone know what I did to cause this ?

View the latest post Water tank issue....

I have a 1989 Carver Montego 2557. Just got her in the water and have an issue with my water freshwater. I filled the water tank but no water is coming out of faucets. The toilet is filling and flush-able. I can hear the water pump making noise. Where is the water going? Must be a leak somewhere? Any suggestions?

View the latest post Plumbing, Alternative 15mm Quick Disconnect Fittings

These fittings have always been a pita to get a hold of. Usually out of stock, special order not to mention expensive. Came across this at Home Depot, yes it says 1/2" however this is designed for an irrigation system which is not your standard 1/2" exterior dimension. I measured, tried, tested and can confirm it is interchangeable with 15mm boat stuff. Shelves are full and dirt cheap. No way can you get 50' of 15mm water line for $20 CDN? more like 5'. Its rather easy to disassemble as there are built in tabs to push back and release. Finally a cheap, easy to obtain alternative. Disregard the 3/4" stuff in the link, see here https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/search ... q=blu-lock

View the latest post Transmission problems.

Help! My wife and I just recently purchased a 2000 Carver 45 voyager with twin 480 Penta Volvos. I had the boat out and was experiencing a delay in the forward engagement of the port Trans, approximately 12-15 seconds. After a short while, while returning to dock. I lost all forward power in that Trans. Reverse still works fine. I would like to trouble shoot this issue before calling a mechanic. Any suggestions. Thank you in advance.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Motor Rotation - 390 Express (1996)

I was under the impression that both of my motors were standard rotation, and the counter rotation was done in the gear drive or the transmission, but after talking with a Trojan expert (whos expertise are self-admittedly only valid until the 1991-1992 vintage, when Trojan went out of business), I'm not so certain. I can say that both of my motors have the distributor wired to the same firing order, but that means nothing, as who knows if someone wired the distributor wrong, and I've never actually heard either motor run.

I have compression in the stbd motor, and it's more or less ready to go. I drained 100% of the gas out of the stbd tank (over 100 gallons!), tested for compression, changed the plugs, bought a new gas line, and I'm ready to add fuel and see what happens with this motor... The only issue that I can see having with the stbd motor is perhaps an electronic ignition/pcm issue, as the mechanics all seem good.

I am just starting the same process with the port motor. I already bought a new starter (for a std. rotation motor, perhaps mistakenly), had the alternator rebuilt, and drained and changed the oil. I'm ready to get the rest of the gas out, have a new gas line made, do a compression test and try firing the motor... however, I am now concerned that my port motor is actually a counter rotating motor, and I bought the wrong starter. Any good or simple way of telling?

Do you have an IR temp gun....if so shoot each engines thermostat housing or right on the sender itself, that will give you an idea of what is up.....the IR temp guns are cheap now and in my opinion a tool that is mandatory on a boat. That will get you started.
