Here we go new season, new problem I turned up the seacock on to de-winterize the AC unit. then I went to turn power on and all well. Then I switched the AC water pump and breaker tripped. Did it 2-3 times same. There is quiet a bit of rust, not sure that has anything to do with, maybe loose wiring? It worked flawless last season. So there is power, when I turn AC power on power comes on behind the kitchen table. But trips when I turn the water pump for AC on.. Do I need to replace the whole pump? or the thing hanging from it? see pictures. Thanks guts in advance.

I have attached photos of the bushings or washer that hold the side panels of the sundeck to the rails. Can't find them anywhere on the internet probably because I don't know what they are called. Looking for them in pure white preferably made from Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) and not nylon. Any help appreciated as always

We just joined and are so happy to have found this site! We bought our first Carver (28 Mariner) in the 90's and were forced to sell it due to the economic downturn in 2010. Now that we are recovered and have 5 grandkids we wanted to get back to boating. It will be a great experience for them. We LOVE Carvers and really like the lines of the older style. Fortunately we foun d one that our surveyor said was an "oldie but a goodie" and we purchased last fall...too late to use it. Looking forward to getting back out on the water soon!!! We do need to make some replacements and updating so hope all of you will be able to help.

Well, New owner of a 1995 Carver 250 mid cabin express. Freshwater boat with 5.7L with bravo II. Was a neglected boat! Little things here and there but a repower with new mercruiser powerplant in 2012. All the paperwork to boot! Have incluced pics! Very excited for the summer!

Wednesday I drove to the marina where my boat is winter stored. I removed all the shrinkwrap and prepped the boat for my 2017 launch. I stopped at the marina office to make an appointment to launch yesterday, Thursday at 11 AM. I then went out for lunch.

I arrived back at the boat. I then decided it would be a good idea to turn the engines over. I turned the key for the starboard engine and it cranked over as it should have. I then turned the key for the port engine and nothing, nada, zip, zilch. Nothing happened.

I took a quick check below in the engine compartment but I could not see anything out of the ordinary. Now, it was my port transmission that had been rebuilt and they had to pull the engine so they could remove the transmission to effect the rebuild.

I am thinking that when they reinstalled the engine and transmission something was not reconnected. I am hoping that it is something that simple. I can't think of anything else it could be. Both engines turned over in December and January when I went to check on them so it is only after the engine removal that it will not start.

A friend of mine suggested that I wiggle the shifter at the helm with the key turned on to the start position to make sure the neutral switch is working. I did that turning the key into the start position while moving the shift lever all the way forward and aft. Nothing happened.

Both batteries are fine so it's not the batteries. So, everyone please keep your fingers crossed that they will find and solve the problem. I am looking forward to hitting the water and getting my dock set up at my new marina.

Obviously any ideas or suggestions from members here are greatly appreciated. I will head back to the boat on Saturday.

tried to turn on the a/c today for the first time. the blower seemed to come on but no snoflake on the control pad. no water was pumping either. the sump breakers we're on but the a/c unit ever came on? any ideas?

Here is my problem. I have a 2000 Voyager 450. My outgoing power cord is a 125/250 50 amp for the last three years I have been plugged into a shore power of the same with no problems. This is only one cord, I do not have multiple inlets.

I am trying to move to a new slip in the same marina. The current shore power is 125 50 amp plug. They will not upgrade the plug saying the dock does not have enough capacity to handle the power the boat is wired for.

We want the slip and I was advised that all systems should work expect for ac systems. So I purchased a $379 adapter, and the panel shows nothing. All breakers are on, but the panel is black. If I switch to generator all is normal, showing 240 volts in and all systems work.

If I shut off and try to go to shore power I get no reading coming in.

Repair shops want to rip my panel out saying it must have a short. Will this boat ONLY run on 250 volts shore power? shouldn't 110 at least register on the meter?

I want the slip so would like to find a way to work this out.

I've located a 1985 Carver 2807 Aft Cabin with a single Crusader 350 engine just thirty minutes away. It lived on the Ohio River and has been sitting on a trailer for at least two years. Looks good overall but it will need new canvas, bottom paint and a good cleaning.

Here's my question, is $10,000 too much for the boat and an "undersized" aluminum tandem axle trailer?

I have a 1995 Carver 390 CPMY that my wife and I enjoy very much, but the way they (Carver?) wired in the House bank is making me crazy! As far as I can see, the house bank goes to the inverter, and powers the 110v outlets and the microwave. The 12v lights, instruments, and refrigerator (when not on shore power) are powered by the starting batteries (!).

We can all agree this is a weird system. I don't think the house battery/inverter installation is a DIY affair, 'coz it looks too neat. The starting batteries are currently kept charged by a built-in charger mounted on the aft engine compartment bulkhead, and the house batteries are charged by the inverter when the boat is connected to shore power.

What we can't find is any switching that allows the house bank to run the 12v circuits in the boat! Under the companionway stairs is the switch that lets me chose starting battery 1/2/both, and under the dinette area is the inverter and a switch (on/off) that allows house battery juice to flow to the inverter.

This hasn't been an issue up to this point, 'coz anywhere we go we hook up to shore power, but any time on the hook, and the fridge will run down my starting batteries in no time! A friend suggested there must be a switch somewhere that links the house bank to the 12v circuits, but we simply haven't found it.

Does anybody have any clues here??? Thanks!
