View the latest post Trim Tab Fluid Reservoir

I have a 1981 Carver 3007 Aft Cabin. I think I may need to put some fluid in my trim tabs reservoir. Does anyone with this model know where the reservoir is located? Is it easily accessable or will I have to hire a vertically challenged person to crawl down into the engine compartment to fill the reservoir........

Thanks.

View the latest post 1996 Carver 355 - actual cruising speed and fuel consumption

I am looking at purchasing a 1996 Carver 355 aft cabin with twin gas Crusader 454 XL engines rated at 350 HP each. The engines are very clean with only 470 hours and are NOT fuel injected. I have searched all over the internet for realistic cruising speeds, gph, and mpg rates and the numbers are all over the place. I would like to get some real world information from someone who actually owns and uses this same boat and setup. My wife and I really like the layout and space for the size of the boat. We will mainly cruise in the PNW (San Juan Islands) where everywhere is within 40 miles or less. Also, any known or common issues with this model to look for would also be helpful. I already know the aft aux fuel tank inside the swim platform are known to leak. (This one does as well)

View the latest post Spent Some Time On The Boat

Yesterday I went down to my boat to remove some stuff that has to come home so it won't freeze. I am on the hard but I brought my Honda portable generator and powered up one of the onboard electric heaters. Cozy onboard with the heat. Probably one more trip to remove the TV and then I will be ready for shrinkwrap.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Anchor Roller

Hello, on my 2005 39MY the anchor roller is very dull looking. I have noticed that on similar Carvers of the same year they all look the same. Has anybody tried removing these and polishing them to have a nicer finish?
Thanks

View the latest post installing a generator

Hi I'm installing a cummings onan 11kw genset in my carver 3608. I've noticed a spare sea cock blanked on port side which I presume is for the raw water intake I am wondering did the generator have its own exhaust outlet through the hull via a skin fitting or through one of the existing exhausts. Any info or pictures would be appreciated. Regards lee

View the latest post Help!!! Need info on 2005 Carver 33 SS

Hi all,
My wife and I are seriously looking at a 05 Carver - 33 SS. I have a huge concern and hopefully I can get some opinions from some of you. We absolutely love the layout of this boat. It is designed into basically 3 zones and we love that. 1. entertaining 2. cooking/dining 3. sleeping/head area. Our concern (and its a big one) is the v-berth bed. When you lay on that bed with your head forward toward the V (which is the way it is designed) it is so tight that your nose has about 6 or 8 inches of clearance from the top of the boat. It is close to the point of being somewhat claustrophobic. We have been on 2 of them so far and crawled up into the bed both times and we just can't get past the fact it is so close in that area. We spend a lot of time on our boat and when your spending the kind of money that a 2005 demands, it scares me to think that something isn't perfect. My hope is that someone else on this site has spent some time on this model boat and can give me their opinion. It would be much appreciated. :usa:
