What is the intended use for this divided sink? There is a plexiglass divider which allows water to go underneath.

hi all just put away the Switchin To Glide for the winter ( snowing today ) I have a line on 2 mercruiser D636 4.2 6cyl turbo diesels with about 1200hrs on them ,I want to repower my 1986 3207 aft cabin with diesels ( 5.7 mercs right now gas prices are killing me ) has anyone have experience with these engines ? I know they are Italian VM Motori and I have heard all the chirping about parts and service issues, doesn't bother me . Just looking for cheaper motive force ,I'm heading south next fall gas or diesel
I have been a factory trained VW/AUDI MECHANIC for the last 30 + years and have built some Frankensteined race and road cars and have been a cabin cruiser owner for the last 25 yrs and have swapped omc for merc engines/complete drive systems in Bayliners /Sea Rays / Dorals so this is not a daunting task in my books Any info would be appreciated

The salon unit is not cooling really well. The unit is mounted under the steps coming into the salon, not very accessible. I think I have located the low side pressure connection and have some R410a coming. If that doesn't fix it it will need to be replaced. But How? The steps are carpeted and I can't see any way to remove them. There must be a way, right?
Thanks for any input,
Bob

Hello everyone,
I have a 1997 Santego 310 350 Crusaders. Just bought it. It is only my second boat I have ever owned and quit a bit bigger than my 21' deck boat. As with everyone else I am looking for any manuals or instructions. I am in Bonita Springs Florida, just retired December last year. I will read through the posts to see if I can find something on my own.
Recently came back in and my shore power is plugged in but nothing comes on like it did before. Not even sure what to check. There is power through the cord to the boat. One of my guests may have hit a switch somewhere, who knows?
I am hiring someone to replace the generator.
The port engine started overheating after a long idle speed trek. It was fine the rest of the time and on a 40 mile round trip to Marco Island. The engine is fairly new with 65 hours on it. The previous owner said he has a hot thermostat on it because it wouldn't come up to operating temp. I am thinking the sea strainer is stopped up but I really have no idea.
I am trying to learn everything I can about this boat. Any help would be appreciated.

I’d like to add more lights but a different color to the Aft Deck overhead lights. The current switch operates two overhead lights. I’d like to change the switch to a SPDT but can’t figure out how to route the wire from switch to lights? The current switch is starboard of the salon access doors (picture attached).

View the latest post Attachment(s) 2006 Carver 42 SS access to holding tank sensor
- Posted by: markalexander » November 1st, 2023, 10:25 am
- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
Hello Everyone!
We purchased a 2006 Carver 42 Super Sport in September and so far we love the boat!
It appears the holding tank sensor is not working correctly. It always shows 3/4 full even after a pump out. It's the fireboy gauge type system.
I know the tank is empty after a pump out because I can see there is nothing in the tank when I look at it from the stairs area.
I've searched everywhere online and can't find a thread that talks about or shows how to access the holding tank gauge on our new boat.
I've removed the pie shaped step leading into the 2nd guest cabin but that only allows me access to the bow end of the tank. You can't put your head into the area to see the top of the tank, just not enough room in there. I stuck my hand into the area with and with my cell phone I've blindly taken some photos as best as I can and it appears the gauge and wires are at the middle/aft end of the tank. I've attached a couple of photos.
In the lower 'utility room' storage area where the washer and dryer are located, I've opened the small (about 1ft by 1.5ft) panel on the left under the movable stairs that accesses the area under the guest shower area and see hoses running towards the aft end of the holding tank.
Do I have to remove the entire back panel of that storage area to access the gauge on the holding tank including the cubby hole shelf above and slightly left of the central vacuum?
Or is there another easier access panel from above?
Should I remove the carpet up in the salon area just before the stairs and will that reveal an access panel?
Any help from someone who has had to service this holding tank sensor gauge would be appreciated!
I've been a member here for a couple years (when we owned our Carver 350 Mariner) and have found this forum is so excellent for information, thanks to everyone for all their help and support for us novice owners!
Thank you
Mark

View the latest post Attachment(s) AutoPilot and steering ram
- Posted by: ontariojeff » November 1st, 2023, 9:14 am
- Forum: Electronics & Navigation
Hello,
I am the owner of a Carver 570 Voyager. However, recently I have encountered a problem with the autopilot system. Whenever I engage it, instead of keeping me on a steady course, it seems to be sending me in circles. Given its age and the fact that the remote is completely destroyed, I believe it is time for a complete overhaul.
I was wondering if you have any recommendations for a reliable replacement system? After doing some research, I've been eyeing the Raymarine EV systems. Additionally, I'm trying to determine the capacity of my steering ram.
On a related note, I was also curious if there is a wireless remote available. It would be fantastic if I didn't have to run a wire from the sun bridge helm all the way to the stern.
Also the possibility of having a second transmitter from the pilot house.
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
