View the latest post Documented boat

When I bought my boat last month, I had asked how long the seller had owned the boat, and the broker told me it was a one-owner boat. I've since discovered in some old paperwork buried among some of the musty manuals and maintenance documents on board, that the seller was in fact the SECOND owner, and that the boat had been documented under the original owner's name (along with a different boat name)! Lo and behold, I found the numbers down below in the bilge.
So what do I do with this information? Is there a protocol I need to follow or be aware of? Should I find out if the change of title and boat name was ever recorded from the first to the second owner? Do I notify the USCG as the new owner?
The surveyor seemed to shrug it off when I mentioned it to him, as if it wasn't important and was totally up to me if I wanted to spend the money for the documentation or not. What exactly are the benefits of being documented, and would it be to my benefit to follow up on this?
Any suggestions, answers or advice welcomed!

View the latest post Attachment(s) Adding Batteries

I Have a 1986 Carver 3207 and i would love to add about 2 more batteries so that i can run an inverter. My question is is there a specific battery set up for the house bank? Should i just add an additional 2 batteries to maybe battery 2 on the switch in parallel ? Should i some how try and separate the house bank and started batteries? i'm kind of lost here because I want to add 2 100 ah batteries .

i'm looking at at possibly a 1000 watt inverter which maybe over kill i may be running a 32 inch smart TV and a 19 inch in the aft cabin so the kids can watch TV while underway . over all i would like a inverter charger so i can use it for all outlets.
I also want to sometimes run the fridge on 12 volt .

Has anyone put a Garbage Disposal in their boat? We cook a lot and would like to be able to grind up some organic stuff to feed to the fishes. The sink looks like there is a spot that can be cut out. Any ideas?

View the latest post Carver Mariner Shower Head

Has anyone updated there shower head in the Carver Mariner 350? The current set up with a wand and a holder is ok, but has a tendency to flop around. I would like to keep it removable for cleaning, but would like a more stable mount.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Hello from Illinois (for now!)

Greetings from a first-time boat owner! :-D I decided 7 years ago that I would someday own my own live-aboard boat, and after years of dreaming, scheming, reading and researching, looking at boats in various states, picking boaters' brains on assorted forums, narrowing down my preferences and considering all my options, I finally decided this summer that the time was right! I took a Boating Safety course through the USPS (scored 100% on the exam!!!), got a few lessons on the water, and on Friday the 13th last month, I became the new owner of a 1992 Carver 33 Aft Cabin! The "live-aboard" part isn't a reality (yet), but that's just a matter of time.
:captain: Still feeling a bit euphoric!
