View the latest post My heads are not getting power and my A/C's are not either

- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
I bought my 3207 a couple weeks ago. It seems that both heads and my A/C systems are not getting power.
Everything looks to be intact but neither heads have power or make any noises when the buttons are pushed.
My Heads are Raritans.
Anyone had loss of power to either the heads or the A/C units before??? If so, what was it?
I have both Head switches and the A/C breakers on in the power panel.
Maybe there is a fuse or something that I am unaware of.

So i got my engines running after buying my 85' Carver 3207 at auction a couple weeks ago. I prematurely took it out of the slip because I need to move one slip over due to incorrect placement by the marina. I took it out of the slip and quickly realized that the steering wheel was not doing anything. It felt like it was clicking. Both the wheel house and the fly bridge felt the same. I think it's out of hydraulic fluid or something but I don't know how or where to check it.
Can someone give me some pointers to where the reservoir is located and what fluid to use and anything else I might need to do to get the air out of the system as well.

OK so this is going to be a very silly question but one I need to ask....where does the "grey" water go on my Carver 355?
I have two holding tanks, 18 gallons each, forward and aft. I have been staying about for the weekends with my girlfriend and have had her taking Navy-showers as I was concerned about filling up my holding tanks too fast (36 gallons is not a lot!).
This weekend when her kids were aboard I was on the dock and saw water getting pumped over the side, yet the A/C was not on and the bilge is bone-dry so I was seriously freaking out. When I asked one of the girls what they just did she said she just washed her hands in the sink. After doing some research it seems that grey water just gets discharged, not stored....can it be true? If so my GF will be VERY happy to know she can actually take a real shower again when on the boat! LOL

View the latest post Thruster for 4207

I want to thank SHEMP for your reply to an early post regarding my enquiry regarding the installation of a bow thruster on my 4207.
I am getting more serious about the project and looking for specific information.
I am currently looking to install a a single prop unit by Vetus with a 10in tunnel and 275lb of thrust.
Do you have any idea if this sounds adequate? Most other installations in my area (Montreal) on large Bayliners or Carvers have a 7in or 10in tunnel with dual props (non-Vetus).
Any comments?
thank you.

View the latest post 356 / 404 Hard Top access
- Posted by: jimcnelson » April 9th, 2014, 1:22 pm
- Forum: Carver Yachts Forum - Model Discussion
I'd like to add a pair of speakers and some lighting to the hard top on my 356 but running wires will be tricky. I've opened all of the access ports with no luck and it looks like I'll have to drill through the radar arch where it meets the hard top to gain access. If I do that, I'll probably cover the new hole with a light fixture. Before I do that... I thought I'd ask if anyone else has found a better way.
Does anyone have experience running wires inside of the hard top?
Thanks for any help!
Jim

View the latest post 1995 355 Aft Cab, Aft fuel tank
- Posted by: glazingguru » April 7th, 2014, 5:31 pm
- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
I recently purchaced a 1995 355 aft cabin, gas engines. The previous owner stated that he never bothered to use the rear (aux) tank. I have been reading horror stories of unused fuel tanks and in this instance, the swim deck needs to be torn up to replace the aft tank.
I am not sure if the tank is okay or not.
I have a few questions that I am hoping someone here can answer.
1. Is there an easy way to see if the tank is still good without taking a chance on fouling the engines?
2. Do both engines draw from the rear tank until it is empty and then from the side tanks? I see no mechanical switch for the aux. tank.
3. If #2 is correct, it would be fair to assume the rear tank is empty... right?
Your comments/experience is appreciated.

Hello
I am the new owner of a 1985 2807 single inboard.I am needing the true weight and draft. All info that I can find is related to a twin engine boat .They are showing 34" draft and 8900 pounds. I am sure the draft is going to be more and the weight less. Any help will be appreciated.

View the latest post Anyone know the signals to open a draw bridge?

Morn' All,
So it seems like this should have an easy answer but I am conflicted. I called the city, and the guy in charge of the workers thought it MIGHT BE 3 short blasts of the horn. I looked do at a iPad app and it states that the Coast Guard rules state, '3 long, 4-6 seconds, blasts, and 1 short, 1 second, blast'. Thoughts?
I changed my dock location to up river to save myself 75% of my dock costs! but now I have the bridge to deal with

Thanks,
Steve
