2000 carver 506 - Generator Seacock/Ball Valve

Postby KuyaJunGarage » April 22nd, 2026, 9:20 am

Hey guys, I was De-winterizing my boat last weekend. On my last seacock/Ball valve, Generator seacock (Buck Algonquin). Handle broke off. ARGH!!!
After looking at the thru-hull, It does not look good. Will need to change it out. Before getting hauled out, anyone know what size thru-hull it is? Hoping to buy the parts I need so I'm no not the hard for long, In and out.

Thanks guys for taking your time in reading and helping me out AGAIN...

Off hand I don't know the actual size, sorry. I agree it sure is ugly looking though. Try a wire brush and clean the flats to see if the size is stamped there.

Just be aware to replace with quality bronze fittings.

So to be aware, once all that comes apart you may find there is more than just the valve that is worn out/corroded etc.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Bud, thanks for the quick reply. Yep, i plan on replacing the whole setup. to a true seacock (not a ball valve)

Always can count on BUD (my boat neighbor is name Bud as well!)
