View the latest post Attachment(s) Two 41 CMY Questions

Hello,

Hoping that someone can help me with the following:

1. My left handle on the stairs coming up from the cockpit is loose. I can't see where to get at the area to try to tighten it. (Image attached)
2. The screen door at the back. I can't figure out how to remove it to replace the screen that has been broke. Just the mesh. It doesn't lift out like other screen doors.

Thank you in advance!

View the latest post Navigating in salt water with Crusaders

Hello,
My home port is in Gananoque, Ontario where my 360 Mariner with Crusader engines has ran in fresh water its whole life (650 hours). I'm considering navigating to South Carolina for the winter and spending 5 months in salt water, and was wondering if my engines are made to run in salt water or not.
Since my engines use Prestone, I believe they're closed cooling.
Your answers are very much appreciated.

Hello all, purchased a Carver 396 with 8.1 Crusader engines. So far, replaced control head (starboard engine idle only). Replaced relay board, Kohler generator, turned over when fuse installed. Soaked generator heat exchanger in Barnacle Buster and installed anode. Replaced plugs, soaked cylinders in mystery oil, squealed like a banshee when started, wrong impeller installed. Generator purrs like a kitten now. Tackling salon air conditioner tripping breaker now. Looking for Carver recommended blocking or cradle build instructions.

View the latest post Port Listing

I have a 2002 410 Sport Sedan and the boat lists slightly to Port. I have checked the hull and there is no water in the bilge at all. The boat is completely dry. The only thing on the port side that was after market are 2 x 8D house batteries but I am not sure that would cause the listing. Does anybody have a similar model boat? Is this just the way the boat is and its weight distribution?

View the latest post Attachment(s) Weaver Leaver #3

This is a used Weaver Leaver that I had on a Caribe C12 RIB with a 15 hp Nissan 4 stroke outboard. It has not been used in salt water and is in very good shape. It comes with the parts shown in the pictures. $360.00 with pick up or plus shipping.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Batteries concern

My Riv 28 runs on 2 Grp 31 batteries that are intended to do all things with the 1-2-both-off switch. Old school, but OK for a dock queen with day trip outings. Not good enough for my planned windlass upgrade. But . . . Normally my NOCO charger shows 2 green lights until last week one green and one red. Low on electrolyte on Batt 2 so I topped the cells up. Next weekend - 2 green.
Day outing today with the fridge breaker off, so only dash gauges and electronics on, but when I returned to dock, 2 red on the charger.
It seems odd to me that the alternators can't keep those "marine" batteries up. I am looking at a battery system upgrade (windlass), but now I wonder if I can rescue these 2 in a new configuration. Pics of the batteries below.

View the latest post Gel Coat color?

Does anyone happen to know what the gel coat color name is for the 2000 vintage 506s. Did carver use a generic white or some specific color that needs matching. I have several chips and holes to fill and want a pretty close match if possible.
Thanks
I found an out fit that sells a gelcoat repair kit with several pigment colors to use to custom match but I would like to avoid that if possible. Was there a way to match the paint based on HIN at some point?
