View the latest post engine seacocks stuck

my engine seacocks wont open or close, I have cat engines. It very difficult to access the handle, its a very tight access.
I am thinking of a pvc pipe to get some leverage. I have tried to purchase a ---seacock helper. there doesn't seem to be any in stock anywhere.

View the latest post 1989 2357 fresh water pump

Hey, I just got the boat in the title and the PO messed up the waste water and fresh water plumbing, and the pump is bad. I can't read what model pump it is, but I can fix the plumbing. What is a good pump? It's a 25 gal waste tank and 10 gallon fresh tank. Thanks!

Hi...how hard is it to prep a 2000 Voyager 53 for over the road transport?

Or does anyone know if Table Rock lake near Branson, MO has a waterway to the Mississippi?

Thank you

View the latest post Attachment(s) Replacing Air Conditioning Water Pump

Hi All,

Brand new to the forum and a new (1 year) boat owner.

I’m trying to replace the air conditioning water pump on my 2003 Carver 366. I can’t figure out how to remove the coupling between the pump intake and the sea water strainer, or if I need to remove it at all. Could I simply remove the nuts that attach the pump to the boat structure and rotate the pump to unscrew it from the coupling or is there a way to undo the coupling? I tried undoing the coupling by hand and it seems pretty difficult; plus I’m afraid to apply too much force.

I’ll attach a pic of the pump and a close-up of the coupling.

Thanks much!

View the latest post New Member - 346 Aft Cabin

Hello All,

I am new member to this forum and a recent owner of a 2002 346 Aft Cabin, which I have really enjoyed.

I used this forum to find out answers in the past, but want to provide some my finding. That might help others.

1) The shore water not working when connected. - Answer: The factory put a valve behind the master shower, which was never turned on. Had to take the panel off the back of the shower to turn the value on. The the value could not be seen or reached from the access panel under the outside stairs hatch.

2) The A/B switch for the TV- Answer: was located in back of the cabinet under the stereo.

Note: The previous owner never used shore water or cable TV.

View the latest post Boat buyer. I have so many questions

I currently have a small Sea Ray 180 sport. I live in Louisville, KY and we take it out on the Ohio. Have lots of fun with it. But... I am always seeing these larger boats and I want one so bad. Very interested in Carver boats, specifically the 396 Motor Yacht and the 360 Sport Sedan. Though I am open to others. I am also looking at smaller (not much) cruisers like Sea Ray and Chapparell.
First question is general. Just any suggestions? I am looking at $150k or less. The primary users are myself, wife and 2 kids(occasional friends). Youngest kid is 11. Long term (retirement so a while from now I am 45) I want to have a place in the Tampa St. Pete area and have a boat that travels between there and here(maybe even do the loop). That's probably a few boats away.

Second, where should I confine my search. I find lots of boats in Florida. What would the cost be to bring it up here? Is that a silly idea? Can I just pilot the boat up here? Would that cost a similar amount in fuel? Time? Should I stick to closer boats?

Third(related to the second) is fuel. I know each boat and conditions will be different. But, for example I read in a forum of a Carver model similar to what I am looking at would cruise at 20Kts and consume 22 GPH. But if lowered to 10KTS only 3.5. That sound right? I ask because I have also read people who say you actually need to be closer to cruising speed to get max fuel efficiency. Something about pushing the water out of the way.

Fourth, generators. How much fuel do they use? Do they also draw from the main gas tank or do they have a separate tank? How good is the heat and AC? TV? Just use a digital antenna or can you use like a direct TV satellite?

I'll have more... Thank you so very much in advance to any one who answers.

View the latest post Question on '84 3207

I discovered that some sort of hose had been passed through the bulkhead between the galley and the engine compartment, port side outboard of forward holding tank. The hose had been removed but the silicone used to seal the bulkhead penetration was still there. Any idea what the hose would have been? A/C condensate pan drain? I'd like to find out before I re-install the holding tank. Thanks.

View the latest post Attachment(s) No power to port side panel AFT 1983 Carver 28 Mariner

I am getting power to the starboard side of my panel and gauges but not my port side. The gauges read and light up on the starboard side but not the port side. I can start my starboard engine with the key switch but I can’t start my port side with the key switch.
