Post Vacu Flush thought

First of all, I DO love my Vacuflush unit, even though I had some challenges this year, but they were overcome. The small amount of water used on each flush and the evacuation of the bowl is superior. However, while resolving my leak, I saw a “Silent motor kit” available to get rid of the “KaChunk, KaChunk, KaChunk” noise. I guess I have to say why would you want to get rid of it? Doesn’t that pumping sound tell you if there is a problem hearing the pump run on and on?

Post Happy To Find The Forum

Hi, Everyone! My husband and I bought a 2001 Carver Mariner 350 November, 2019. On our first cruise in June (my birthday...sigh), the sucker lost power to an engine. We limped back to port - Herrington Harbor North on the Chesapeake in MD. She JUST went back in the water 9/17/20. So, we lost the whole summer and a whole lot of our bank account!

Regardless, we love the newly named 'Town Hall' after my parent's bar in College Park. We boat with 3 dogs aboard.

Happy to be here.

Post New to Carver

We have been Sea Ray owners for the better part of 25 years and are selling our 06 44DB and looking to move into a pilot house class boat. The early 2000s Voyager boats interest us the most. We are deciding on whether to go 53 or 57. The 57 will be a very tight fit in our side tie berth due to the ample swim platform but the 53 seems to look a bit tight in the salon. Id be interested in opinions about either boats. We will do the majority of our boating in the SF bay and Delta region with future ...

Post Lost My Carver In Sally

It has been very tough this past week and I have delayed reaching out to you guys. We took a total loss to our Santego. The Marina was completed destroyed here in Pensacola. The bow pulpit of a Sedan Bridge went straight in to our cabin and we are devastated. My heart goes out to anyone who has had a loss like this due to unforeseen tropical events. In 24 hours it went from a tropical storm going in to Texas to a Cat 2 that hit here. There was no chance to opt in to our haul-out program to the s ...

Post Season Is Coming To An End

Got notice from the marina it is officially closed as of Sept 27th end of day. However power and water are still available until Oct 13th. This weekend may be the last we enjoy the boat in terms of boating with temps around 26c and feel like 30. A last gasp from mother nature before it starts to get wintery. Going to have to start thinking winterizing and storage. Odd year with covid as our usual frequent trips to the US were not possible. Did use the boat quite a bit though. Hopefully next year ...

Post Bad AC water pump. Any info?

Hi All. Question about Air Conditioning pump. I have a 1992 Carver 28 aft cabin and my AC isn't working. Have been told the fresh water pump pictured here is an old model and is dangerous as they catch fire. Does anyone have knowledge about this pump? Is it dangerous? Can it be repaired? What's a good replacement option? Thanks.

Hello.

My name is Paul.

My wife and I are in the process of purchasing a 2001 Carver 396 Motor Yacht.

I grew up in Miami and spent lots of time on the open water, snorkeling, working with wild dolphins and, eventually scuba diving in California.

Although, I have sailed 40’ sailboats and 25’ power boats, it has been years.

I am taking all necessary courses, including the USCG Certified Captains course. I will also be getting hands-on experience with a certified captain.

Any tips, advice about the boat ...

Post 1995 430 CPMY Owner

Good day. First post to this great forum and it pains me. I have a Kohler 9CCOZ generator that my mechanic says is done. Has anyone or does anyone know the best and easiest way to get it out of the boat? I was planning on replacing with similar. I live in Bermuda :pirate: and everything is so expensive. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. Keep up with the great posts!
