Post Cleaning tip needed.

Hey folks.
My vinyl 'Captains Chair' is looking funky. The 'First Mate' chair is not as bad but not great. All other seating on the boat is pristine. (I have included 2 images..one clean and the target)
Does anyone have a suggestion for cleaning them up without damaging the surface. I have tried various approaches to no avail.
Thanks.

Post DOMETIC 12K reverse cycle issue

Last August I bought a Dometric 12K BTU Reverse cycle unit and the SMXII controller. It was EBAY number 264357583158. I bought it from Citi Marine and the seller was fantastic to work with. The unit worked great and has all summer, except for a few occasions. Today again, the set point was at 70, but the temp got up to 76, and it has done this a few times. I can adjust the temp, but the only thing that works is to shut it off and turn it back on and all works great. I have seawater flo ...

Post Brisson Vapor Alarming

Vapor alarm started alarming almost daily on and off around noon to evening. Started when battery charger was on. Immediately turned off over a week ago. No Fuel detection. Possible Hydrogen. Have solar. Inverter off and charger in standby. Issue continues. Blower does seem to temporarily relieve alarm.
Checked battery water levels all good.
Is sensor being finicky or do we have a problem?

Post Volvo D6 370's, Starboard will stay sync'd but then drops RPM's

I have twin 2006 Volvo D6 370's w 635hrs

They both stay sync'd up to about 2800 RPM's. When I bring them both beyond that the Starboard will drop a few hundred RPM's then bounce back up, then drop down, then up, etc... It seems to drop back to around 2800. I got them both @ WOT doing almost 26 kn. Up to 2800 RPM's doing 15kn they both run fine.

A friend of mine said he had the same issue and his turned out to be the Turbo Charger. :-(

Anyone know a way to test/prove it is the Turbo?

Anyone have a ...

Post Screws, Butyl AND glue? Crikey!

I decided I was tired of the pastel lighthouse images that adorn two of the walls in the salon. I decided to remove one to replace it with something cooler. I was congratulating myself when I was able to get all three screws out fairly easily. It was still stuck there after the screws were out. Then the glass broke taking it off.

Look here some butyl too.

Now looking at this mess I wish I had just stayed uncool.

Post Carver 466 MY 2001

We're Carol and George

This 2001 Carver 466 came up for sale on our marina in early July....suddenly we owned two boats :)

Love the extra space and learning the insides and outsides and all that good stuff.

We're in Liberty Landing Marina in NJ and look out at the World Trade Center as we enjoy our morning coffee.

Happy to have found this place

All the best

George

Post New to the Carver family!

Hello All, permission to come aboard!
picked up our 2003 360 Sport Sedan a little over a week ago and loving it! Had 2015 350 Monterey SY and hands down love the Carver! May have some AC questions soon enough, but I think I will poke around the forum first to see if I can find my answers!
Cheers!

Post How to remove heat exchangers, spark plugs on Santego 3467?

Hi all,

I may need to remove the heat exchangers to clean them. I have Crusader 454s with V-drives on a 1990 Santego 3467. The exchangers are under small hatches under the seats in the cabin. It is pretty tight in there. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I will also need to replace spark plugs at some point. How do I get to the outboard ones?

Boat is new to me as of January 2020.

Thanks,
Barry

Post Horn Advice

My dual electric trumpets bit the bullet. :-( This spring they started sounding squeeky so to say and now they quit all together. Is it worth trying to repair them, are they servicable or should I just replace with new. New set is about $100.
