Post Just Purchased a Carver

Hi all. I am new to Carver boats having just purchased a 1986 2757 Montego. I have some work to do on it, but its generally sound. I have heard horror stories about the Merc 190 engines, but the previous owner and the marina that services the boat told me that the engines were in good running order and do not have the coolant or charging issues I have heard about. It will be in the water at the end of the weekend and I am hoping to enjoy it with my family. If anyone has advice about this pa ...

Post Poop/waste coming out starboard vent after flushing, please help!

Hi! I’ve been researching all I can to solve my issue. I have a 1998 Carver 370 Vogayer with a Vacuflush system. After flushing the toilet, during its pumping cycle waste/poop comes out of the side vent. The tank looks like it’s empty to 1/4 full. I just purchased the boat and working through troubleshooting but hopefully someone here has some insight. I found out the hard way. Moored on a dock with people sitting next to our boat, flush, then waste all over the dock 2 feet away. :-(

Any ideas ...

Post Back Deck Cover

Hi and Please Help!
I may be worried about nothing but I really think I need a cover to enclose my sliding glass door on my 1989 Carver 3467 due to the angle of the door. I am worried about rain getting in the boat if we get caught out on the hook. Can ANYONE tell me if I am overreacting or is there a cover I can get that will go over the entrance door?

Thanks for ANY input.

Post 12000 BTU to 16000 BTU?

It’s finally time to replace the 20 year old Marine Air System in my aft cabin. Current system is 12000 BTU... I found a good Dometic replacement that is 16000 BTU (the same size that is in my salon). This aft AC unit also vents into the salon, which on hot days, could use the help. My question is, can my one 30amp panel run this new Ac (per Dometic pulls max 6.6amps) along with my other AC and the AC water pump? The math says it would be fine, but I am wondering if anyone has done this? 12k ...

Post Just bought my first Carver

Hello All,
My wife and I just bought our first Carver this evening. A 1989 3467 Santego. First thing I did was find this forum so that we can gain any and all information about our 'new' boat. All info appreciated. I really know nothing about Carvers.

Post Older Raymarine system -stay or go?

My 2001 Carver 350 Mariner ca.e with the Raymarine setup - LS70, auto pilot, depth, radar.

The LS70 is toast.

The boat also came with a new Sinrad NSS12 but no radar dome for it.

Is it worth it to fix the older Raymarine system?

Or just go with the Simrad and forget about radar.

I do most of my boating within a near radius of the shore and dont really venture too far out into the gulf.

I hate to get rid of the radar but it sure seems like a much older system.

I may just sell the dome and keep the ...

Post 454 CI carburetor question

Each 454 on my 3807 has Rochester carburetors. This is the interesting part. They have divorced chokes. Meaning they have a separate metal coil mounted to the manifold that is attached to the choke plate. When engines start choke is fully closed. When the manifold heats up, coil expands, lifts the rod and the choke plate opens. Seems cave mannish, but maybe it was a tried and true method in 88?. Just had the carbs cleaned and rebuilt. Still have the issue of when started, there’s a smell of raw ...

Post Looking for a Part

Looking for the solenoid/resistor cover for our Waukesha 302 Fords. These are 1975 engines so it's probably wishful thinking. Jim
