Post Thermostat Help

Hi Group, I need to locate a couple of thermostats. These are for a Waukesha Ford 302's. The number on the stat is ST 358 170*. Can't seem to cross reference them with anything. Could possibly be a Barr CM-29-4142522 for a Chrysler if it is I'd like to find substitute because $129 seems to be a bit much. Up on researching some numbers it keep coming up for a early 318 Chrysler. Crossed over to PMC RP026001 ($108 + shipping) or NAPA THM 358170 ($41). Was wondering if someone knows anything more? ...

Post Contaminated Fresh water supply

Have a 1998 400 CMY, just purchased. The water tank after, I filled it, became clogged with black slime at the filter. Cleaned it and worked for about 5 minutes. (Water pressure motor was ON). Came back to boat next day and turned everything on again, ran for 10 seconds and stopped. All faucets.
I'm assuming its the filter again. I know how to clean the tank, but I need to empty it first. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
D & D

Post Engine Rotation

1978 Carver 3396 Mariner. Hello. I really need some help with this. I believe that my boat has twin 351 Windsor engines and according to my research, they counter rotate outboard. I fully understand what that means however, the engines are backwards in my boat. So the front of the motors are facing aft. So would that mean my STBD motor rotates left or right? I have the original owners manual and ive looked everywhere online and I cannot find clarification on that. Thank you. Also, neither engine ...

Post 2005 39 Motor Yacht Standard Features and Options

Does anyone have a brochure or list of standard vs optional features of the 2005 39 Motor Yacht? I am looking at possibly purchasing a used boat and want to understand what was standard and what was an upgrade.

Thanks,

Post Replacement head for Wilcox Crittenden Newport 1600

Any suggestions for an electric toilet for the forward head on a 2000 Carver 356 aft cabin? Both heads currently have a Wilcox Crittenden Newport 1600 toilet and the service kits are no longer available. The front head has a tighter configuration for the mounting area and the hoses which makes it tough to find a replacement toilet.
Has anyone had luck replacing these toilets with a different model?

Post Kohler 7.3 generator issue

I had my generator tuned up (spark plug (s)), carb adjustment, antifreeze, impeller, oil, and filter. The main reason I had it in was after starting, it would burn white smoke and labor some for about a minute or so, sometimes longer.

The gennie worked fine afterwards and up until the last two trips. Now, it takes two or three attempts to start it. It will eventually start, but I am concerned as to the possible causes. I would like to know step 1, 2, 3 to check for issues.

Thanks for any help yo ...

Post 396 Stereo Lovers

Hello all 396 owners. I'm contemplating upgrading my stereo. Currently I have 2 independent radio's installed which is quite cumbersome.

what I would really love to do is remove both, and install a single unit that I could hear and use anywhere. To complicate things more I would REALLY REALLY love to tie in the TV so it could support the surround sound.

Has anyone tackled such a project? Maybe just upgraded the radio? I'm really not looking to putting a Dance Floor in my 396, just looking ...
