Post Hi all

We just picked up our 1984 Carver 3227 Convertible last week. Its a beautiful boat but have been doing some interior renovations. Its a totally different boat for us from the past. So far loving the twin engines.

Post Help for slip buddy

Hello All, I know nothing about diesel engines. This may be nothing. A friend of mine took his sailboat out yesterday for the first time this season. Small diesel started up fine, ran for 30 min. getting out of marina and into the bay. Then, just like that, the engine revved up to a high RPM. He could not use throttle to reduce RPM, could not get on/off switch to stop the engine, no reaction to anything he tried. He finally disconnected the battery to get it to stop. Any thoughts? It is pr ...

Post Camper Canvas

Well the camper canvas is back on our Carver. Took two days to reinstall. Started yesterday in real nice weather was going to finish it in the morning but it was pouring rain and blowing like an SOB. Finished it this afternoon. Might still be a little tweaking for fit. We had removed it five years ago to trailer the boat home. Will mark things this time so we'll know where things go. One step closer to getting on the water. Jim

Post Bonding Wire

I was in the bilge on my 390CPMY and saw the green bonding wire from the starboard shaft collar broken off, and a wire to the plate with 2 studs also broken from the wire that comes down the hull heading for the stern. Am I correct in that I neeed to reconnect the shaft collar wire back to the main. Line and also one to that plate? The plate has 2 studs, but only had one terminal used for a green bonding wire.

Post How can I go digital on A/C that doesn’t cost half as much as a new A/C?

I currently have a 2006 marinair 18K running off my old 3 knobs. My original marinair 16K a/c died and this was included with the boat. But it didn’t come with any of the I/O stuff. Quick google hits looks like almost $750 for the kit. I refuse to pay almost half the cost of a brand new 16K...there’s got to be something cheaper..can anyone help?

Post Vacuflush switch on power board

Hey all! having an issue...I've been trying to diagnose vacuflush not functioning...realized today the switch on power center for turning system circuit on is shutting itself off...is that equivalent to blowing a breaker? The vacuflush works while switch is on, but the switch will only stay in the on position for between 20 seconds to a minute (time varies). Trying to figure out if there is likely a problem with toilet, or if a warn out switch is possible? Am I correct in thinking these switche ...

Post Hinge pin problem, Bowmar hatch

Hi all,

I have a Bowmar hatch from 1990. One of the hinge pins is partway out. I'm not sure how it got that way. No info from prior owner. The pin is frozen; I can't push it in, rotate it, or pull it out. I tried removing some screws but could not free up the hinge to remove it to take home to a work bench. Maybe everything is bonded to the deck? Any ideas? The pin is a white plastic or teflon material I think.

I tried contacting Bowmar but could not get to a technical person yet.

Thanks,
Barry

Post Carver 366 Transport

Does anyone have insight into what must be removed to transport a Carver 366 over land?

I assume the arch and hard top at a minimum... Hoping someone here has experience that can be shared.

Thanks!
