Endurance Marine Horizontal Windlass


I am considering the purchase of an Endurance Marine horizontal anchor windlass (WCH2000 or WCH1000). ( I know everyone thinks I should get a Maxwell or one that takes both line and chain, but that is not going to happen.) Reason for the interest in Endurance winches is because of some scary reviews of the Powerwinch horizontal windlasses - which I will reconsider if someone has something nice to say about them.

Anyone have any experience with those windlasses (or hearsay or rumors)?

Question number two- On my 300 Sedan I would like to know how far the forwardmost bulkhead is from the center of the opening to the chain locker.
