I’m trying to replace my forward cabin light fixtures.
Where is the best place to cut off the old fixture?
Do I need to keep the “half round” piece intact or can it be removed as well.

So I have been using two thirty amp cords at my dock. I recently learned one of the cords is "burnt" at the female plug (according to my mechanic). The boat came with two 50 amp cords which I have never used. There is also a splitter, i.e., 50 amp female to two 30 amp male plugs. The marine has 50 amp power available.

Someone needs to explain to me whether I should buy another 30 amp cord (or just the female plug) or use the 50 amp cords and in what configuration.

So I finally got to the winch. It turns both ways so the motor and the gearbox are ok. What is not ok is that I could not lock the clutch, so the chain cannot be pulled by any force. I can turn the handle but as soon as it should clamp, it turns through that resistance and this goes on as much as you like.

The unit has been sitting there for years without any maintenance so I expected the removal of the top nut with the winch handle as my biggest challenge.

Had it soak in WD40 for a day or two and with a lot of force, it did come off to my surprise.

Then took each item from the top and ended up with this:



back to the drawing:



number 277 looks like it should simply slide up the shaft and out of the way. Then some clips and the shaft plus motor should drop into the chain locker. Or so I thought.

I'm now stuck with a stuck clutch cone. And the strange thing is is that it does turn freely, it just does not move up or down.






My questions:

- should it come off upward now or am I missing something?
I tried rather excessive force (crowbar style) but it keeps turning nicely while not moving up at all.

- how is this supposed to work? Is part 276 pushed against this clutch by turning the top nut with the handle?
Would it work to do something with that so it will connect 276 and 277 forever? Like adding some shims under the top nut?
I only (want to) use it to pull up the anchor chain, no need for that clutch. I don't use it as a rope-winch so I can do without that.
As the motor runs I can do this and leave it as is: no taking apart for cleaning and such.

I can't take the whole thing out without removing that clutch. So if there is no trick: I either have to put it back together and fixate the clutch to the gypsy (is that 276?) and let it function like that.

Or I have to cut the clutch to pieces and replace the whole thing. Which would financially not be worth it when looking at how it will be used and because the motor still works. If it takes a chain up, it is enough. No need to pull the boat along or use the rope part and so on.

I have a 1990 Santego 2767. The motor is a Volvo Penta 740 Big Block (pic attached).
Anyway, we were having fuel issues for a month or so (stalling, etc.) and so after changing the fuel filter a couple of times, we decided to drain the tanks of dirty gas with black bits floating around, and fill them with fresh fuel.
With our new, clean gas, the boat was running better than ever. A lot less smoke, quiet (smoother), etc. Then, last week we went out and it was again going great, when suddenly it got loud (like a muffler blowing off on a car). It might have lost a little power (hard to tell) and I think I can hear a bit of a knock.
I thought a hole might have developed in the exhaust somewhere, but I can’t see it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Does anyone know how I can get a 3607 Aft Cabin wiring diagram? mine is a 1983 but I understand it is the same through 1987.

2004 360 SS HVAC has no problems heating or cooling, but the vent on the ceiling above the dining table doesn’t blow any air out of it. All of the other ones do. Well maybe that’s good so food doesn’t get cold too fast?

Wondering if anyone knows of an exact replacement for this hatch. It leaks badly and dogs are broken off. It appears to be plastic. Hole opening is approx 19 7/16” x 19 7/16. It has 2 cross bars under the lexan. 1 running fore and aft and the other running port and stbd. Thanks
