Post Advice on buying a 2001 444

Hi All:

I’m an avid boater (waterskiing, runabouts, etc) and I’m taking the plunge to buy a yacht (too old to waterski any more LOL) I really like the Carver 444 and I’m looking at one (online) that’s a 2001. Once this COVID19 stuff is over and I can venture out, I’m going to take a look at her. Anything I should be looking for or weary of? Any good questions I should ask?

She’s only fresh water and stored covered. From the photos, it looks like the hull/bottom needs a new paint job.

Thanks in ...

Post SF Bay on Easter

Happy Easter everyone!
Had a chance to fish a bit, no luck. Found out that the new Oakland A's stadium is being built across the way from me...pretty cool. Hard to see in the second pic but the cranes are there.

Post Malber dryer failure

Has anyone had an issue with their Malber dryer where the wires melt near the capacitor? This is where the power cord enters the dryer in the back. Anyone had a similar failure, and better yet fixed it? I'm hoping a competent appliance repairman can rewire it.

Post Accessing Galvanic Isolators

Hello,

I have a 2000 Carver 396, and need to replace the galvanic isolators. There is no access via the shore power cabinet, so access must be available through the aft cabin transom wall. I am not sure if the access is provided by removing the aft cabin paneling, or by removing the aft cabin bedside cabinet...neither looks obviously, and ...
