Post Leave charger on or not?

Our 41 CMY has a CCharles 60amp Model 5000 three bank charger. I just replaced all three batteries with Maintenance free lead acid batteries. My question is should I leave the charger on all the time or turn it off when we are not there? Probably no longer than three weeks between boat visits and while it can get cold, bildge shouldn’t drop below 50 degrees.

Oh one more thing. No idea what setting the charger is set to related to lead acid, gel, or AGM. Not sure what CCharles or Carver was thinki ...

Post Hello from New Owner

Hello All,

I've just bought a 2019 Carver C36 Command Bridge. This is my first boat. I'm very ignorant but want to learn from all of you. Thank you in advance. I'm very excited.

The boat is en route to Miami so I don't have the manual. I'm getting power at my dock set up. The boat comes with short power cables, but I need to know the amperage. Anybody know?

Post Volvo EDC engine gateways

Hello, any chance any of you have installed an engine gateway on TAMD Volvos? I'd like to install them on my 99 530 Voyager with TAMD 122s. Sounds like it will be different than the folks with the newer D series motors. Hoping to beg some wisdom. Thanks, Dave.

Post 2020 Rendezvous?????

Hello All! I know someone probably thought of this in the past, but who would be interested in planning a CYO rendezvous in February or March of 2020? We could pick a city, a date, and all show up at the designated time. It is a little more complicated than that, but it would be great to meet some of you in person to talk smart and lie! Big Fun!!!! Quick example: if we wanted to meet in Green Bay, WI, I would volunteer to negotiate a hotel rate in the area for our group, take care of trans ...

Post My 2019 Boating Expense Sheet

My 2019 season is over. Time to start planning the 2020 season. My boat club has quite a few trips planned so I could have a busy season. I am retired but do work. My boating monies come from my work. I was part time but in order to get my weekends off so I could go boating I moved into a 40 hour position working the midnight shift. I actually spent a bit less this year because I also used that income to buy new living room furniture, a new watch and a new 65" LG 4K TV.

Post New Carver Forum Member

Hello All, I’m new to the forum and a new Carver 570 Voyager owner. Just wanted to say hi and let you know I’m looking forward to participating in this community and the knowledge and experience you all share.

One question, our boat is in NYC and I’m looking for a captain familiar with the eastern seaboard to run the boat to Bradenton, FL over the Christmas to New Years holidays with myself and two others as crew. Any recommendations you have on experienced captains would be appreciated.

Post Voyager 450 Waste Pipe Access

Hello

I have a 2000 voyager 450 that smells due to waste line issues. My current plan is to start replacing the accessible sanitation lines in the engine room. The carver parts manual has some drawings that explain the general layout.

It seems to me that sections of the port side and starboard side lines are difficult to access.

Has anyone figured out a way to access the waste lines under the galley on the Port side ? Specifically the flexible hose from the head to the pvc pipe and flexible h ...
