Post Freedom 25 inverter charger tripping breaker
- Posted by: kkochner » June 15th, 2019, 9:35 pm
- Forum: Electrical
When I pulled in my doc today and hooked up the shore power as soon as I switched from my generator to the shore power I tripped the breaker on the main panel of the dock. It did not trip my breaker on the boat or the breaker on the power tower. After a bit of narrowing down I discovered that it was my inverter switc when I pulled in my dock today and hooked up the shore power as soon as I switched from my generator to the shore power I tripped the breaker on the main panel of the dock. Post central vacuum

Has anyone added a central vacuum? We had a central vac on our Four Winns and it worked well. I'm thinking about installing a shop vac or clone in the engine room. Haven't measured anything yet. 3 gallon might be good size. Not sure about the hose and the suction power as it would need to reach bridge. Open for comments.

RAIN WATER LEAK INTO VOYAGER 450 GUEST STATEROOM A/C DUCT
It was a new issue this year and I thought I would post this to help someone else. I kept finding fresh water in the forward most bilge compartment. In heavy rain the carpet forward of the access hatch would be wet. I found the water entering through the inside of the A/C duct of the forward stateroom. After taking apart the bed and its supporting panels I found the uppermost end of the flexible duct where it connects to the vertical duct, ...

I have owned a 28' voyager for a couple of years now and am in the total restore mode of this vessel. There is a switch on the rear bulkhead wall of the galley above the fridge that I have no idea what it is for. The manual doesn't seem to address this. Can anyone assist?

Post Greetings from Tom W on Long Island NY (Mariner 350)

Hi All.
I am a new member to the Forum, although my wife and I have had our 350 Mariner since 2003. Got it new that year.
First I want to say, it is a great family boat in our opinion with a great layout and has served us well.
As with any boat, there is generally something to fix. In our case, we have a problem with the cook top in the galley. It is a Seaward 2247. One of the burners (electric) will not come on. I'm pretty sure I know what part I need, but can't figure out how to get to it under ...

Post New Boat Owner - Need help with kohler Generator.
- Posted by: mobinakhtar » June 13th, 2019, 11:23 am
- Forum: Electrical
Hello folks, I am very new to yachts and generators. I recently purchased 2003 Carver 396 aft which is equipped with a 10KW Kohler 4-cyl generator. I cannot start the generator using the start button or remote button as it makes a constant clicking sound. One mechanic told me it is the starter solenoid (he jumped the post manually and starter kicked in) so I ordered a new solenoid with a matching part number from Kohler. After replacing the solenoid, it's doing the same exact thing. Someone here ...

Post Windless 135amp breaker
- Posted by: Sadey » June 12th, 2019, 4:58 pm
- Forum: Electrical
2003 356 aft cabin. Under the step the 135 amp breaker for the windless has failed for the second time. It was replaced last October and tested but not used. Tested it this April for about 6 inches of deployed chain and worked as advertised. Went to used it yesterday and the windless was inop. It’s definitely the breaker that has failed (used a meter to test it) not sure why. All connections are secure and absolutely no corrosion at any terminal related to the windless. Any thoughts? Also do mo ...

Post ZINC ANODES FOR 3077 CARVER

- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
Hi Gang,
Hope everyone is well and your boating season is off to a fantastic start! Am a bit of a dummy as an operator and hoping someone can help. I am having my 1982 3077 aft cabin Carver out of the water this weekend, and have to replace the stern zincs. I have never done it before, and don't know where to start. Can anyone tell me;
1. what type of zincs, or zincs "package" I need for such a boat, and
2. (I know this one is a huge reach) where I might find/buy them in Vancouver BC.
HUGE THANK YO ...

Hello:
I have a 1986 Carver Mariner 32 and I would like to install an a/c unit. However, I'm a bit stumped - would you know where do you root the water line from the pump to the a/c unit?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ian

Post Borg Warner trans leak

- Forum: Gas Engines/Transmissions
Project 3 of 5 here. Ugh... love boating as it always keeps me so busy so I can relax! Hahaha
While repairing my Generator I found my starboard Engine bay has a puddle of trans fluid in it and my transmission on that side is low. Great! Ain’t that awesome!
So I have very limited experience with Borg Warner V-Drives. Are there typical places these will leak from? In a quick search I found a couple posts about a rear seal?
So my question here is:
* can these typically be fixed in boat?
* shoul ...
