1981 Monterrey. Shore power not working, I have no power to anything.. I tested the cord and it is working, I also checked the fuses by the battery switch and tried to reset the main to see if that was the problem, they are all good. Is there a switch or main fuse that controls the shore power?

Time to change packing. What size please?

Most of my motor looks good, except this (pictured). I know corrosion means leakage, so I should probably open it, wire brush it clean, and replace the seals.
Question: I'm a decent DIYer, is opening, wire brushing and replacing bad seals a DIY job, or could I destroy something? Is there a kit of seals that come prepacked for this area? Thank you for any help.

Hello all, We're new here, having just purchased our new-to-us 2003 Carver 460 Voyager. Hoping to do the Great Loop in a year or two. In the meantime, we're looking for unique storage ideas, especially in the galley. Has anyone added an extra fridge? The fridge/freezer combo on this model is quite small. We have the 3rd cabin, which is great for storage, but would love ideas for maximizing space in the Master and VIP. One of us wanted an aft cabin layout and the other wanted fewer stairs. ...

I cant see any sendor or wires in either of the tanks any idea where it gets its sensor info from ?

I'm installing new Radar and MFD, replacing the old speedo and depth sounder.

Q - Would you remove the old through hulls?

How big of a DIY is it? I've done fiberglass work before but nothing as critical as a hull repair.

Re-Commissioning my '85 Riv for the first time. Any tips on how top remove the drain plugs?

They are the brass (I think) through hulls, with the 8" "T" handle. They are in tough locations to access, under the aft sink and under the water tank. I can get pliers on them but I can't break them loose. I don't want to twist the handle off.

Appreciate any tips.

There's a cutout in the galley for a garbage bin, but no plastic bin. The opening is 12" long and about 8" wide.

Does anyone know the specific model number or manufacturer of a compatible bin?

I have a 1994 390CPMY with a Lewmar Profish 1000 free fall windlass. I got free rode with it, 200' 8 plait and 15' 5/16" chain. In my opinion, not enough. I just scored at West Marine for 300' 8 plait 5/8" and 15' chain. I am not comfortable with that amount of chain. I was thinking of having say 50' or 75' of chain spliced on, rather than what is there. Any opinions? I know the scope to depth ratio, but just think I need more chain.
