Post Nav and Anchor Light Wiring

I have a 1999 Carver Voyager 530.
My Anchor/Masthead light has stopped working.
I have power to both the lower helm and flybridge toggle switches but no power at the light pole on the targa bar.
Does anyone know the colour of the wiring for the anchor/masthead light - I don't have enough wire at the top of the targa to pull the wire out to see what the original sheath colour is.

Thanks
Andrew

Post Transom Lights

Has anybody added these to a 356? I would like to add them but curious about position. Seems like four would be required but where to put the other 2. Would it be a odd shape if two were in the center of the transom and the other two on the outer sponsons? Or would two be enough?

Post Carver Voyager 450 8.3 Idle Speed

Hello -

I am close to purchasing a 2000 450 with the 8.3 6CTA Engines. The previous owner is running the idle speed adjustment on setting two on the Power Commander EC-100.

I am going to get some help from a diesal guy to adjust the idle rpm (one engine is running a little faster than the other) and I was wondering whether there are target RPM settings for position 1, 2 and 3?

Thanks in advance.

I have already learned a lot from this great resource,

Steve

Post Cruising Range

Hi,

We are about to start our second season with 1st Date, our 1997 400 with Cummins 6BTAs. So far our longest trip was bringing her home to Paris Landing, TN from Green Turtle Bay in Grand Rivers, KY, about a 45 mile cruise. We were able to do this no problem running on the 100+ gallon reserve tank with fuel to spare, running at about 17 knots or so on the plane. Wondering if anyone has figured out a max range (and optimum speed) for this configuration or similar 355/356 with diesels?

Thanks,

Post Detroit Boat Show

I went to the boat show on Wednesday. Looked at quite a few nice boats. A few of them were in the 40'+ range. Definitely out of my price range.

Shock of the show. There was a pontoon boat there with a list price of $249,000. Unless it was the wrong sign or a mis-print I have to wonder who would pay that much for a pontoon boat. Was it nice? Yes. But not $249K nice.

Post Adding Batteries and Inverter?

OK tell me what is wrong with my plan?

I want to add power to my 326 aft simply for a little extra longevity on the hook to run lights in the evening, perhaps and couple hours of tv in the evening and make a cup of coffee in the am. My boat is located at Bayport in Midland and I have had two quotes to do this professionally 1 quote was to add 4 - 6V's with inverter, new charger etc and the installed quote was just shy of $10K. So I then had them quote the above with 4-6V's with separate charger ...

Post Winter boating

Here's a taste of winter boating in the Puget Sound area on New Year's Day. Plenty of dock space at the state park.

Post Mystery Switch and exhaust fan

I have a switch the same as a 110V light switch on my 2001 404 CPMY right next to the generator control panel. It controls a fan with an intake at floor level next to the couch by the steps going down to the galley. I am not sure where the actual blower is or where it exhausts to. Does anyone know what this is for? Thanks Art

Post Buying my Carver 32' and something looked strange...

I am about to be the proud owner of a Carver 32' aft cabin 3207. Just had a look at it and... well, it shows the age but it seems pretty solid. My concern though is the engines... They look great! The bilge and engines are clean enough to eat off. However, the hours meter shows nearly 2,000 hours.

That's fishy. Something like that definitely makes me take a step back and say.. hold on.. what's going on here?

There is no documentation. Current owner is a dealer/broker.. previous owner never used it ...

Post '89 3807 Aft Exhaust Conversion and Aft Windows

I was curious to see if anyone else has been in my shoes on this issue. My '89 3807 Aft had the little holes at the aft port and starboard for the exhaust and AC's. I was getting some serious carbon monoxide through some kind of make shift fiberglass repair to the fiberglass "exhaust chamber." on the starboard side. And the stainless heat shield had come off and was causing some serious rattling and vibration. So I contact the good people at Carver and they sent me an exhaust conversion inst ...
